The Pavises weren't moved very much. You'd basically set them in place and pretend to be fortifications. Armor was also light. OP's pic shows breastplates and helms at best. Some have Brigadines but one guy has basically nothing but a helmet.

They would not. Grenades and mortars would land behind the shields. AMRs would punch right through them. 40mm DP has a shaped charge AND shrapnel.
