There are 2 paths for people born since 1990 or so. Those that have completely turned off and let any practical know-how or capacity to learn practical stuff atrophy (the majority), and those that realized living in the information age has given them ability to learn anything and everything for completely free with simple to process guides (the minority).
My friend hangs stuff for a living. Seriously, he just mounts TVs, hangs pictures, and does the occasional towel rack and light fixture (not installing one, just replacing the hardware on pre-existing mounts and hook ups). His clientele isn't old people or disabled people that would normally have a hard time any of this. It's new homeowners in their 30s and late-20s. He's not even particularly skilled at anything.
Shit is fucked.
