In all the footage that's come out so far, it's been flying with its landing gear extended which means it's so early in its development cycle that they don't 110% trust the hydraulic systems yet and don't want to risk losing the prototype to a simple mechanical failure. And if the airframe is still in that stage of testing, then the engine, radar, and avionics are 10000% guaranteed to only be in early development. I'm not going to write off the J-50. It could be a serious challenger to the US once it enters service... in the late 2030s.
