People don't make swords with modern materials unless its an art piece or display of artisan skills which can take up a pride of place as a display piece. Otherwise no one gives a fuck about modern materials in swords because it comes down to price, processing and function, in which case carbon steels do just fine for the kids out there hacking up water bottles and bits of tree. Swords just aren't important militarily enough to put any effort into improving them with modern materials.
