Former Cabelasfag here, even despite all the procedure they drill into you with chamber flagging and trigger locking incoming customer owned guns for appraisal, scope mounting, etc (which you will be disciplined for not adhering to), smoothbrain customers still find a way to ignore the giant “firearms check-in station” sign right at the front doors and bring loaded guns back to the counter which invariably end up pointed at you. If there wasn’t even that admittedly somewhat porous check-in regime, the company would probably lose at least 1 employee/yr to “unloaded” customer firearms.
