Seeing all you guys talk about this takes me back. Been dabbling on substack, twitter, and youtube for last 2 years with a few small successes. I'd suggest having a twitter account but not focusing on it unless you excel at ultra-shortform ragebait, headline of the day, or masterbatory adjacent content. Twitter is also by far the most clique based, and growth least associated with quality. The value or "loyalty" of an X follower is generally considered half of one on any other platform I've been told (and matches my experience). Twitter is a great way to DM people.

Substack has a narrower slice of the overall population but they seem eager to convert to paid support. Most interest is in consistently put out non-fiction on consistent theme. There is a glut of writers recently though, so a lot of it is writers writing about writing to other writers (or politics slop).

YouTube is a big ocean and most technically complex to grow on, but seems to create the strongest loyalty among followers. You need to put in the work though (or pay for it).

Both substack and youtube also give you ongoing trickles of attention to older content, wheras xitter requires fresh content daily. I have zero familiarity with all other platforms. Regardless, from your tone in writing the OP, I am unsure you have the humility and drive to really throw yourself into any of these platforms in a way that will lead to success. People can smell if you're passionate about something, so pick what you cover carefully so that you actually get some enjoyment from it and it can convert into sales.
