Not really, even the people who claim these intellectuals as their own are rarely carrying their spirit forward. It's nothing to hear Foucault invoked by feminists or queer theorists who default to the repression hypothesis which Foucault explicitly rejects in his work on sexuality. The ubiquity of something like
>homosexuality always existed but was repressed by the state
remains with us in the modern day. But Foucault's thesis is that homosexuality actually didn't exist, sodomy existed but was fundamentally different in character and perception. That it was by the discursive method of science which emerged out of religious rhetoric that actually gave rise to the homosexual as we now know him.

This is a completely different view that totally undermines the politics of victimhood yet for some reason Foucault is consistently conflated with that crowd.
