I find the Greeks to be overrated anyway.

Not sure if the behaviour of the gods here was meant to be satirical or if they actually believed that "divine beings" would act like little spoiled children. I mean if you read it as a satire and a mockery of Greek paganism then it could be decent, I guess. Although it's very repetitive and doesn't read like a comedy. Even from a plot point of view everything is convoluted and it sucks because you just have gods with random powers randomly intervening all the time like in some marvel flick.

From reading Plato I actually get the impression he wasn't very smart. I'm being literal here. I think he was a sub 90-IQ dude who maybe had a lot of curiosity but didn't have the brainpower to actually produce anything of value. For example he attempts to argue for reincarnation on the basis that everything comes from its opposite, so being alive comes from being dead, so we used to be dead before we were alive, so reincarnation is true. Literally! This guy is supposed to be an "intellectual giant", lol.

I actually enjoyed reading Herodotus but again the IQ levels are quite low as he literally believes that the "Oracle at Delphi" is predicting all these historical events and cites it as a source. Imagine a modern historian citing faith healers. They'd get laughed at. But apparently this was normal for the Greeks.

Sure Euclid was OK but he was the cutting edge of their mathematical thought but what he produced is now taught at high-school level.

Aristotle was decent. I'll give the Greeks that. But in many ways he was a turbo normie. His warnings against extremity and preference for "muh golden mean" are... ok, I guess, but not the exactly the stuff of legends. And I do take some issue with his teleological view of nature. But on the whole he was good, brilliant even. So the Greeks, as far as I've read, produced one brilliant man.

These are the only Greeks I've read and despite being told that they were all "masterpieces" I found every single one of them to be overrated, sometimes laughably so as in the case of Plato.
