Basically, Gabriel is a loser who thinks the highest moments of life are things like giving speeches at dinner parties. Compare this with the modern day söyjak who thinks Marvel movies are what life is all about. Only when he hears his wife's tragedy, of a man literally dying for love, does he realise he's a background character in the great world stage, someone with no grand moments or events. It's a story about an NPC realizing he's an NPC.
