It does have to be, though. You're acting like AI is one step away from replacing, in whole, EVERY HUMAN WRITER ON THE PLANET. I can assure you by way of personal experience that no, it isn't that close, and it won't be that close for years (if ever).

I'll say it again: With certain kinds of writing, AI may excel - but it isn't anywhere near being able to write coherent long-form fictional content without a level of human intervention that may as well amount to those people writing the content themselves. You might get a decent 5,000 word story out of an AI if you try hard enough, but you're not getting another Lord Of The Rings out of an AI any time soon.

There will always be a place for human writing. If there isn't, we're all fucking fucked. THEN you can be depressed. Until then, your self-defeating fantasy is still a fantasy and you can either shut the fuck up about it or neck yourself so we don't have to keep hearing you complain about something that hasn't happened yet and might not even happen at all.
