You are probably right. I have listened to a lot of the audiobook of St. Augustine's Confessions, but would like to read it properly. I have taken a greater interest in Christianity over the past few years having been raised atheist but moving away from it.

I did all of those too from 14-21 and enjoyed them all to a degree but left them all behind. But then I discovered opiates at 21 and it was like a missing piece that had been absent all my life was finally put into place, I felt utter contentedness for the first time. That along with feeling fuzzy and warm, it felt good just to lie there "watching" TV with my eyes closed for hours on end until I eventually nodded into sleep, boredom and anxiety was impossible, as was introspecting at all or thinking about lifes woes. You might try opiates too and find they're not for you, or they might be for you but you might be able to chip and keep a lid on it, but you might not.
