If you're aware of that and don't mind Shin Great never ever, it's worth a watch. Plenty of references to Go Nagai's other works as well. Shin Mazinger Zero's a manga that also rewards your love and understanding of Mazinger, gives plenty of cameos to other Go Nagai characters and IPs also.

If you love Mazinger, it's going to be a rewarding show. Pic rel won me over.

The show deeply respects its audience and treats it seriously. There's a sense of continuity formed by the repeated victories and near-failures of Mazinger Z.

I'd say start with Kaiser, give Shin a try if you need another push to watch Toeizinger
