I wouldn't say they're bad. Just different.

Has a really fun cast. The TV series has some occasionally jank CGI sometimes. Lots of homages to the original series. The movies are a reimagining, but they have some major differences. And vastly improved CGI.

More of a mixed bag. Cast's a bit too big, so it's hard to flesh everyone out. The VF-31's battroid is too skinny. Didn't like Walkure's songs as much as the songs from Frontier.

The first movie is a recap movie, with a lot of deviation at the end. Second movie is an entirely new adventure. FEATURING MAX JENIUS FROM THE MACROSS FRANCHISE
