Not the anon you replied to, but, when it comes to Challia, the way the show has been directed so far Challia isn't a support character, he's the third protagonist. Machu, Nyaan, and Challia are all leads right now. It's a really weird setup in Gundam to go all in on someone outside of the Gundam piloting leads or rivals shown this way. My gut tells me he's going to die for Machu's growth at some point.
The two Gundam pilots don't have this kind of world relevancy. Sorry Machu finding the boy you want to fuck and swimming in the ocean are not important. Nyaan seems to have gotten where the writer wants her in the short term.

Really his whole role feels wrong to me for a Gundam show. If he's supposed to Machu's Quattro, they've wasted to much time getting their. If he's supposed to be a behind the scenes world shaper like a Trieze, he's unusually prominent for Gundam. It's almost like the directors wanted to have their real char newtype plot, but felt like they couldn't develop the lead girls the way they wanted in it , so they made chalia to just to lead this plot line until the girls are fit for it. It seems convoluted to me.
