Sadly, that ship has long sailed, especially after Delta, where they took the concept of music as a weapon to such a ridiculous degree that it bordered on parody. Realistically, the only thing I ask for in the next series is that they scale back the scope of the conflict and the size of the cast; Delta had way too many characters, most of whom were pointless. Even within the idol group, the pink-haired girl’s entire character was basically, "my boobs are big and I'm a lesbian, maybe." I’m open to any style of music, and I’m also fine with them dropping the love triangle angle altogether. If they’re going to half-ass it again like they did in Delta, I’d rather they just focus on developing a single relationship. Also, I hope they drop the whole 'Lady M' thing, because the thought of them dragging the original cast into what Macross has become kind of pisses me off
