>Then, the sound of droplets of water ring out

>You can't really feel them
>But you feel your mane move in response
>"Hey dude" a familiar voice says above you
>Bleary eyed, you squint into the sun to see Rainbow Dash stood above you
>Stood on the water that you're laying in
>Ponies are weird
>You watch the water drip from her mane
>Then they freeze in the air
>But not in the sense they become ice
>Rather, they simply stop
>Sunlight refracts and shines through them
>Their glow seems to shimmer off her coat
>A gentle breeze ruffles her mane and coat as that smug, self-assured, yet kind smirk you've come to know crosses her muzzle
>For a moment, you pull your eyes away from her face to glance up at the sky above
>A softer blue than her coat, with a few pure white clouds drifting by
>Then the sky ripples
>You sit up to get a better look
>It takes a moment to realize you're in the sky
>And staring at the sky's reflection in the pond below
>But you're just sitting in the air
>No cloud
>No nothing
>Dream
>Probably
>You give your wings a test flap
>No aches or pains or burning sensation
>It feels wonderful
>With a quick flex you're off on a flight again
>It feels natural
>An endless loop of ponds below and sky above pass you by, and you simply enjoy the breeze on your wings
>It feels right
>You're not sure how long you fly in the dream
>Time's weird in dreams
>But the sun wheels through the air and night falls and the gentle glow of the moon takes a blue tint
>You jolt back a bit when you see a great, pale blue eye staring at you where the moon should be
>Clouds are underhoof as you calm down and the glow becomes brighter
>Soon though it fades, and that same moon mare from before stands in front of you
"Luna..." You say with some uncertainty
>"So thou dost know us" She remarks coolly
"I did some reading" Is your simple response
>She hums back, her eyes pulling away from you as if to inspect the dream as she begins to walk circles in the cloud
>"What else hast thou been up to?" She asks
>She doesn't trust you
>You can't blame her
>You wouldn't trust you
"Well, you're already aware of one thing, aren't you?"
>She doesn't answer, but the look she gives you is enough
"What were you even doing all the way out there?"
>A pause drags out the conversation, and the dream
>It feels like the air is getting dragged out and drawn taut
>Then it snaps back as she speaks
>"In truth, we have... suspicions about you. Even now, we were approaching Ponyville to observe you and come to what conclusion we could."
"Don't you have other ponies you could send to spy on me?"
>"We were not-!" She bites back her words before she can back your ears ring, and calms. "We were simply there to observe, then... we saw the contest between yourself and Rainbow Dash."
>Right
>She'd saved your life
"Thanks, by the way"
