ICE Bombs Innocent US Citizens' door, seemingly in retaliation for rear-ending them
KillerQueenHasAlreadyTouchedThatPost
Video appears to show an explosion set off by federal agents as they entered a Huntington Park home in an early morning law enforcement operation that startled a woman who was inside the house with her two young children.

The operation targeting a man who lives at the home unfolded early Friday in the 3500 block of Flower Street, where about a dozen federal agents in tactical gear could be seen on security camera video taking up positions in the front yard. Two of the agents appeared to secure something to the house's door and front window before an explosion.

Armed agents crouched behind a vehicle in the driveway entered the Huntington Park home shortly after the detonation, which blew the door off and shattered a window. A drone also can be seen entering the house.

At least one armored vehicle was parked on the street near what appears to be a Border Patrol SUV. A woman holding a young child and the hand of another emerged from the home and were escorted to the SUV.

Jenny Ramirez lives at the home with her boyfriend, who was sought by authorities, but not at the residence when Border Patrol agents arrived. Ramirez said she received a call from a neighbor telling her Border Patrol vehicles were in the neighborhood.

She said she then heard the explosion after jumping out of bed with her 1-year-old child to check on her 6-year-old.

"I just heard the loudest blast of my life," Ramirez said. "I told them, "You didn’t have to do this. You scared my son, my baby and myself.'

Democrat proposes tax based on skin color

Zohran Mamdani Proposes Taxing 'Whiter Neighborhoods' in NYC

New York City's Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani has said he wants to "shift the tax burden" to "richer and whiter neighborhoods" if he secures election in November.

A housing policy document on Mamdani's official website includes a pledge to "shift the tax burden from overtaxed homeowners in the outer boroughs to more expensive homes in richer and whiter neighborhoods."

Newsweek contacted the Mamdani campaign for comment via email on Friday outside of regular office hours.

What To Know
Mamdani's official campaign website features a policy memo under the title "Supporting homeowners and ending deed theft."

The document says that if elected his administration will "Shift the tax burden from overtaxed homeowners in the outer boroughs to more expensive homes in richer and whiter neighborhoods."

It adds: "The property tax system is unbalanced because assessment levels are artificially capped, so homeowners in expensive neighborhoods pay less than their fair share. The Mayor can fix this by pushing class assessment percentages down for everyone and adjusting rates up, effectively lowering tax payments for homeowners in neighborhoods like Jamaica and Brownsville while raising the amount paid in the most expensive Brooklyn brownstones."

Jasmine Crockett (D) criticizes the so-called Einstein Visa by claiming "The math ain’t mathin". It is currently unknown if she is actually retarded or just pretending to be

Crockett questions Melania Trump’s reported ‘Einstein visa’: ‘The math ain’t mathin”
by Tara Suter - 06/26/25 10:52 AM ET

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) questioned first lady Melania Trump’s reported “Einstein visa” inata House hearing Wednesday.

“Let me remind y’all that Melania, the first lady, a model — and when I say model, I’m not talking about Tyra Banks, Cindy Crawford or Naomi Campbell level — applied for and was given an EB-1 visa, and what that stands for is an Einstein visa. Now y’all that don’t know, let me tell you how you receive an Einstein visa,” Crockett said.

“You’re supposed to have some sort of significant achievement, like being awarded a Nobel Peace Prize or a Pulitzer, being an Olympic medalist, or having other sustained extraordinary abilities and success in sciences, arts, education, business or athletics. Last time I checked, the first lady had none of those accolades under her belt,” the Texas Democrat added. “It doesn’t take an Einstein to see that the math ain’t mathin’ here.”

The Washington Post has reported that Trump in 2001 was given a green card via the elite EB-1 program. The program has been used by people such as academic researchers and multinational business executives, as well as people who have demonstrated “sustained national and international acclaim,” according to the Post.

Crockett’s comments came amid already heightened tensions over immigration in the U.S. as President Trump and his administration pursue an immigration crackdown.

Trump Unveils Plan to Kill His Voters This Hurricane Season
171003141618-02-trump-paper-towels-puerto-rico-10-03-2017
The Trump administration has abruptly and without stated reason decreed it will stop processing data vital to early hurricane detection, which particularly affects states along the Gulf Coast, a region that has voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump in the last three presidential elections.
When asked for comment on this change, President Trump replied:
"Now that I finally don't have to worry about being reelected, let me be honest. I hate Republican voters. I despise them. They are subhuman trash not worthy to wipe my ass. It takes everything in me not to vomit when I do rallies and have to look at their fat, disgusting, inbred faces. I'm heading back to the White House now to fire up the weather machine and try to kill as many of them as I can. Maybe the rain will wash some of their stink off the country. Fuck. Them." He then spat on the ground and walked away laughing loudly.

https://www.local10.com/weather/hurricane/2025/06/26/critical-hurricane-forecast-tool-abruptly-terminated/

>On Monday, the U.S. Department of Defense announced it would immediately stop ingesting, processing, and transmitting data essential to most hurricane forecasts.

>The announcement was formalized on Tuesday when NOAA distributed a service change notice to all users, including the National Hurricane Center, that by next Monday, June 30th, they would no longer receive real-time microwave data collected aboard three weather satellites jointly run by NOAA and the U.S. Department of Defense.

>The permanent discontinuation of data from the Special Sensor Microwave Imager Sounder (SSMIS) will severely impede and degrade hurricane forecasts for this season and beyond, affecting tens of millions of Americans who live along its hurricane-prone shorelines.

Trump and RFK Jr plan to kill more Americans with defunding of anti-disease group
1750061531535430
https://www.npr.org/sections/goats-and-soda/2025/06/25/g-s1-74554/rfk-jr-vaccine-safety-gavi
The international vaccine agency, Gavi, has strongly rejected Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s accusations that it was not following scientific data on vaccines, after he said the U.S. would halt all contributions unless the body made changes to its practices.

Kennedy's remarks were made at a Gavi pledging summit in Brussels on Wednesday, where countries and philanthropies promise to deliver funds. A video of Kennedy's remarks, first reported by Politico and later posted by The New York Times, shows him praising Gavi for its mission of making medicine affordable to everyone but then pivoting to criticisms. He says the group "ignores the science" when it comes to vaccine safety and calls on Gavi to "re-earn the public trust" before the U.S. would reconsider its decision to end U.S. contributions.

Supporters of global vaccines for children are on high alert after published remarks made by Kennedy, who said the U.S. would halt its contributions to Gavi, the international vaccine alliance.

The international agency, established in 2000, says it has played a role in vaccinating 1.1 billion children against a long list of potentially debilitating diseases — from polio to malaria to mpox to measles — and claims credit for saving 20 million lives. Global health experts say Gavi is instrumental in getting vaccinations to lower-resource countries, providing cash to buy vaccines and support for disease outbreak response.

The U.S. has been one of the largest donors to Gavi, funding about 13% of the agency's budget. Under the Biden administration, the U.S. pledged $2.53 billion starting in September 2022 through the year 2030.

In a statement, Gavi said that the organization's "utmost concern is the safety and health of children" and that it rejected Kennedy's accusations that it was not following scientific data on vaccines.

Pro-life Republican ‘nearly died’ during ectopic pregnancy amid abortion ban
>https://metro.co.uk/2025/06/24/pro-life-republican-nearly-died-ectopic-pregnancy-amid-abortion-ban-23491465/

A Republican representative who says she almost died due to her state’s abortion ban has said ‘fearmongering’ caused delayed treatment.

Representative Kat Cammack, 37, almost died last year due to an ectopic pregnancy, and said staff at the hospital were nervous to treat her for fear of criminal prosecution.

Cammack went to the hospital on May 31 last year, where it was found she had a cornual ectopic pregnancy, meaning her embryo had implanted where the fallopian tube meets the uterus.

The doctor told Cammack: ‘If this ruptures, it will kill you,’ but she decided against surgery.

The situation was complicated by the fact that Florida’s six-week abortion ban had come into effect on May 1 last year, meaning medical staff were hesitant to give her a shot of methotrexate, which was needed to end her pregnancy and save Cammack’s life.

Even though Cammack was only five weeks along, fear of prosecution from authorities against the medics was so palpable that she had to argue her case for treatment.

After finally receiving treatment, Cammack has slammed her experience, but blamed abortion rights advocates, who she claims made the hospital afraid of giving her drugs, even when it was legal to do so.

Florida’s abortion ban punishes those who violate it with five years in prison, loss of medical licenses and fines of up to $5,000.

Even though the ban did not specify prosecution for treating ectopic pregnancies, the threat of legal action against medical staff has scared many in the health field.

Cammack, who is now pregnant again, said: ‘It was absolute fearmongering at its worst.

‘There will be some comments like, ‘Well, thank God we have abortion services,’ even though what I went through wasn’t an abortion,’ she added.

Trump tariffs raise prices of July 4th foods, he's busy dropping bombs on Iran instead
1719500525444350
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2025/06/23/fourth-of-july-bbq-food-cost/84325233007/
Your Fourth of July barbecue essentials are going to be slightly more expensive this year – that is, if you even plan to celebrate.

The Wells Fargo Agri-Food Institute analyzed costs for hosting a classic Fourth of July gathering for 10 people and found that consumers can expect to pay $130 for the food and beverages. That's up 2.2% from the cost for the same gathering a year ago. USA TODAY got an exclusive look at the report.

But in another survey by Coupon Follow, only 1 out of 3 people plan to celebrate Independence Day at all.

How much will the typical Fourth of July cookout cost?

Wells Fargo took a look at the costs for hosting the classic Fourth of July gathering using data from NielsenIQ, which tracks food scanned at retailers across the U.S.

While the cost of $130 for a gathering of 10 people is 2.2% higher than last year, the devil is in the details, said Wells Fargo: in particular the costs of beef and eggs are higher this year.

The menu priced includes barbecued chicken breasts, beef sliders, hotdogs, fresh fruit, vegetable platter, potato salad, corn bread, cake, apple pie, ice cream, beer, wine soda and flavored sparking waters.

White House to limit intelligence sharing after Iran bombing leak
1750807200720021
https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2025/06/25/iran-intelligence-sharing-gabbard/

The White House plans to limit classified intelligence sharing with Congress after leaks to the press of an early assessment undermined President Donald Trump’s claim that U.S. airstrikes obliterated Iranian nuclear facilities, a senior Trump administration official said, setting the stage for a contentious classified briefing before senators Thursday.

Amid a political battle over what the intelligence shows, the White House is expected to send four of its top national security officials to brief lawmakers: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe and Gen. Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, administration officials said.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who testified in March that U.S. intelligence agencies assessed that Iran was not building a nuclear weapon, will be notably absent.

“Ratcliffe will represent the intelligence community,” the senior Trump administration official said of Gabbard’s absence, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss plans not yet made public. “The media is turning this into something it’s not.”

Americans disapprove of Trump more than they ever have before, new record!
1731081665829325
https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5367365-trump-net-approval-economist-yougov/
President Trump’s net approval rating has hit a new low in the latest Economist/YouGov poll, taken as he moved to involve the U.S. in conflict in the Middle East.

The poll, which was in the field when Trump announced that the U.S. had bombed three Iranian nuclear sites, found Trump’s job performance 14 percentage points underwater, with 40 percent approval and 54 percent disapproval.

It’s the lowest net approval point of Trump’s second term, according to the pollster, and lower than his net approval during most of his first term.

Americans were more likely to disapprove than approve on a range of issues, from a negative 2 point net approval on national security to a negative 26 point net approval on inflation and prices. Approval for Trump’s handling of the conflict between Israel and Iran had an overall negative 17 point net score, down from negative 4 points the week prior.

But Trump’s announcement of U.S. strikes against Iran, which the president touted as a “very successful” operation, appear to have bolstered his support from Republicans on the issue.

Before the announcement, 57 percent of Republicans approved of Trump’s overall handling of the conflict between Israel and Iran, and roughly a third supported the idea of bombing Iranian nuclear facilities. Afterward, Republican approval of Trump’s handling jumped to 82 percent and support for bombing facilities climbed to 70 percent.

Across the aisle, the share of Democrats who said that the U.S. should not go after the facilities climbed from 56 percent to 74 percent before and after Trump’s announcement. Democratic leaders have been largely critical of Trump’s moves to strike the Iranian nuclear sites, with some suggesting the decision could be grounds for impeachment.

NATO chief: "daddy trump"

NATO Secretary general refers to Trump as daddy, and likes his intervention in Iran to stopping two squabbling children

NATO chief calls Trump ‘Daddy’
The quip came after Trump compared Israel and Iran to unruly children.

THE HAGUE — NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte surprised reporters Wednesday by calling President Donald Trump “Daddy,” a moment of levity in a serious NATO summit.

As the two leaders greeted each other before reporters ahead of meetings, Trump drew a question about the profanity he used a day earlier to chastise both Israel and Iran for violating a recently brokered ceasefire, and his comparing them to unruly children. “They’ve had a big fight, like two kids in a school yard. They fight like hell, you can’t stop them. Let them fight for about two, three minutes, then it’s easier to stop them,” Trump said in a press appearance alongside Rutte, echoing language he has used to describe Ukraine and Russia
Rutte took the fighting kids analogy a bit further: “Daddy has to sometimes use strong language.”

Trump didn’t seem to mind Rutte’s use of the term, which has become slang to denote power and control in relationships. “I think he likes me. ‘Daddy, you’re my daddy,’” Trump said later Wednesday with a grin, drawing laughter from the international press corps and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. “He did it very affectionately.”

The back and forth at the NATO summit showed a growing rapport between Trump and the former Dutch prime minister, now nine months into his tenure as NATO’s top diplomat. And it encapsulated Rutte’s broader approach to the president, leaning heavily into public and private flattery.

Trump seeking deals with 53 nations to hold deportees — now with the blessing of the SCOTUS
1749424185346253
https://theintercept.com/2025/06/25/trump-immigrant-deportations-supreme-court/
The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday ruled that the Trump administration could resume deporting immigrants to countries other than their own without any chance to object on the grounds that they might be tortured. This may clear a legal path for the government to send men held at a U.S military base in Djibouti to the war-ravaged nation of South Sudan where they face an uncertain future, including the possibility of indefinite detention. Three justices, in a dissent, said the ruling exposes “thousands to the risk of torture or death.”

That may be a best-case scenario.

An Intercept investigation finds that the Trump administration has been hard at work trying to expand its global gulag for expelled immigrants, exploring deals with a quarter of the world’s nations to accept so-called third-country nationals — deported persons who are not their citizens.

To create this archipelago of injustice, the U.S. government is employing strong-arm tactics with dozens of smaller, weaker, and economically dependent nations. The deals are being conducted in secret, and neither the State Department nor U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement will discuss them. With the green light from the Supreme Court, thousands of immigrants are in danger of being disappeared into this network of deportee dumping grounds.

“The Supreme Court’s ruling leaves thousands of people vulnerable to deportation to third countries where they face torture or death, even if the deportations are clearly unlawful,” said Leila Kang, a staff attorney at Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, a group that represents immigrants who filed suit.

Trump fires NOAA weather forecasters, rehires them, then demands they pay money
1728466606585826
https://www.nbcnews.com/science/science-news/fired-rehired-fired-noaa-employees-get-letters-demanding-money-rcna214755
Some former employees of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration who were fired, rehired and fired again this spring say they have received debt notices from the federal government to pay it back for health care coverage. Those workers also say the notices are for coverage they never had.

The workers say it’s the latest development in a firing process mired in confusion, poor communication and missing paperwork as they confront the most basic workplace questions.

Three former NOAA employees shared letters titled “DEMAND NOTICE FOR PAYMENT” with NBC News. The letters, dated June 16, claimed the employees owed a debt — sometimes hundreds of dollars — and that interest could be charged. The letters also warned that the debt would be reported to a credit bureau if it went unpaid.

“It’s very gloomy and threatening language,” said Sarah Cooley, who was fired as the agency’s ocean acidification program director in late February.

It’s not clear exactly how many workers who were laid off received the letter. Two former NOAA employees told NBC News they did not receive any such letter.

The notice says the charge is for health care premiums for the eighth and ninth pay periods of the year, a time when their health coverage plans had already expired, the workers said.

“They’re trying to bill me for health insurance after I was fired. I had no coverage,” said Ya’el Seid-Green, a former special assistant in NOAA’s Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research. “It’s just more salt in the wound on how incompetent all of this has been.”

Iran Admits Heavy Nuclear Damage as Israel Backs Trump

The Israel Atomic Energy Commission backed President Donald Trump's assessment of the damage done to the Iranian nuclear site at Fordow, saying the U.S. strike "destroyed the site's critical infrastructure and rendered the enrichment facility inoperable."

Separately, Esmail Baghaei, spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, told Al Jazeera that "our nuclear installations have been badly damaged, that's for sure" by the U.S. and Israeli strikes.

Trump had said the strike resulted in "total obliteration" of the Fordow facility, which is deep underground inside a mountain. That characterization was called into question by a leaked U.S. intelligence report, but the White House called the early assessment false.

We assess that the American strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities, combined with Israeli strikes on other elements of Iran's military nuclear program, has set back Iran's ability to develop nuclear weapons by many years," said the statement from the Israeli commission.

"The achievement can continue indefinitely if Iran does not get access to nuclear material."

Trump referred to the Israeli statement and the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman's comments during his press conference at the NATO summit in the Netherlands, underscoring his original assessment of the damage to Fordow.

The president lashed out at media reporting of the leaked intelligence assessment, saying the B-2 pilots who conducted the strikes had been "demeaned" in an effort to attack him politically.

Norwegian Man 'refused entry into US' as border control catch him with bald JD Vance meme

https://www.dublinlive.ie/news/world-news/man-refused-entry-us-border-31925059

A 21-year-old Norwegian tourist claims he was denied entry to the United States and harassed by ICE agents after they discovered a JD Vance meme on his phone.

Mads Mikkelsen arrived at New Jersey's Newark Airport on June 11 when he was pulled aside by border control and placed in a cell, he told Norwegian outlet Nordlys. Mads was travelling to the States to visit friends, first in New York and then in Austin, Texas, but suffered "harassment and abuse of power" at the hands of US immigration authorities.

"I felt prejudiced, suspected and simply humiliated even then, in front of many other people at the airport," The Tromsø native recounted. "They took me to a room with several armed guards, where I had to hand over my shoes, mobile phone and backpack."

Officers quizzed Mads about his visit, and his plans, before adopting a personal line of questioning. "They asked direct questions about drug smuggling, terrorist plans and right-wing extremism, completely without reason," he claimed.

"They demanded full information about everyone I was going to meet in the US, including name, address, phone number and what they did for work." Mads' mother was due to meet up with him a few weeks into his stay and the pair had planned to travel to several national parks.

"I had travelled for twelve hours, slept poorly, and was physically and mentally completely exhausted even before they started the questioning," he continued. A strenuous crackdown by U.S. Customs and Border Protection has followed President Donald Trump's return to office, with the service being allowed to search phones.

US strikes only set back Iran’s nuclear program by months, report says
1750862952511
Very embarrassing.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A U.S. intelligence report suggests that Iran’s nuclear program has been set back only a few months after U.S. strikes and was not “completely and fully obliterated” as President Donald Trump has said, according to two people familiar with the early assessment.

The report issued by the Defense Intelligence Agency on Monday contradicts statements from Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the status of Iran’s nuclear facilities. According to the people, the report found that while the Sunday strikes at the Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan nuclear sites did significant damage, the facilities were not totally destroyed. The people were not authorized to address the matter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity.

The U.S. has held out hope of restarting negotiations with Iran to convince it to give up its nuclear program entirely, but some experts fear that the U.S. strikes — and the potential of Iran retaining some of its capabilities — could push Tehran toward developing a functioning weapon.

The assessment also suggests that at least some of Iran’s highly enriched uranium, necessary for creating a nuclear weapon, was moved out of multiple sites before the U.S. strikes and survived, and it found that Iran’s centrifuges, which are required to further enrich uranium to weapons-grade levels, are largely intact, according to the people.

At the deeply buried Fordo uranium enrichment plant, where U.S. B-2 stealth bombers dropped several 30,000-pound bunker-buster bombs, the entrance collapsed and infrastructure was damaged, but the underground infrastructure was not destroyed, the assessment found. The people said that intelligence officials had warned of such an outcome in previous assessments ahead of the strike on Fordo.

Gay New Yorkers DEFY Trump's anti-free speech ban on trans flags at Stonewall monument
1750329400044831
https://www.thepinknews.com/2025/06/23/stonewall-national-monument-trans-flags-pride/
Visitors are placing trans flags at the Stonewall National Monument in New York, in an act of defiance after the Trump administration said only the traditional six-striped rainbow flag could be flown for Pride month.

The site, which commemorates the historic 1969 riot outside the Stonewall Inn, led by trans women of colour in the early days of the fight for LGBTQ+ rights, was officially awarded national monument status in 2016 by president Barack Obama.

It has become tradition for Christopher Park, which is part of the monument and located in front of the bar, to be adorned with all types of Pride flags. This year, however, installation creator Steven Love Menendez was told by the National Park Service, which oversees the monument, to use only the rainbow flag.

It comes after the Trump administration wiped all references to trans and non-binary people from the monument website in February, part of a wider push seemingly to purge all LGBTQ+ resources and diversity, equity and inclusion content from government web pages. Advocacy group GLAAD condemned the move, branding it another example of Trump’s “blatant attempts to discriminate against, and erase the legacies of, transgender and queer Americans”.

Speaking to CBS about the park service’s diktat, Menendez said: “It’s a terrible action to take. I used to be listed as an LGBTQ activist, and now it says, ‘Steven Menendez, LGB activist’. They took out the Q and the T.”

Menendez told Gothamist the decision had left him sad but it was “not a surprise with all of the rhetoric that’s been going on”.

One of the people to bring a banned flag, Jay Edinin, from the New York borough of Queens, said: “I’m not going to stand by and watch us be erased from our own history, from our own communities, and from the visibility that we desperately need right now.”

With possible Iran-Israel ceasefire, Trump's high-risk strikes may pay off

US President Donald Trump took a gamble by inserting the US into the worsening conflict between Israel and Iran, but it may have paid off - at least for now.

Trump announced on Tuesday evening that the two countries had agreed to a ceasefire that he said could lead to a lasting peace.

If the American president has in fact ended what he labelled the "12 Day War", it would make for a significant step back from the brink of a conflict that seemed on the verge of engulfing the region, along with pulling America further in after US airstrikes hit Iranian nuclear facilities on Saturday.

"Provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 am Tehran time," Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in a statement, "we have no intention to continue our response afterwards."

It may not be called a ceasefire, but as the 04:00 deadline arrived in Tehran the Israeli attacks reportedly came to a halt. The two parties appear to be on the verge of turning down the heat.

This development comes after a tumultuous day in the region, when Iran followed through on its promise to retaliate for Saturday's US strike.

https://gizmodo.com/rfk-jr-wants-every-american-to-be-sporting-a-wearable-within-four-years-2000619672

The road to “make America healthy again” will apparently be paved with Apple Watches. Health and Human Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has just unveiled a campaign that will try to encourage the widespread use of wearables.

RFK Jr. announced the initiative Tuesday afternoon during a House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee meeting to discuss the HHS’ budget request for the upcoming fiscal year. In response to a question from representative Troy Balderson (R-Ohio) about wearables, Kennedy revealed that HHS will soon conduct one of the agency’s largest ever advertising campaigns to promote their use. He added that in his ideal future, every American will be donning a wearable within the next four years.

“It’s a key part of our mission to Make America Healthy Again,” RFK Jr. stated in an X post following the question.

Some medical experts are excited about the potential for wearables to become an early warning system, alerting users to their personalized risk of many health conditions (even viral infections) well before showing signs of illness. Wearables are also regularly used by people with chronic health conditions for various indications, such as people with diabetes who have continuous glucose monitors (CGM) that measure their blood sugar in real time.

US Intel: Trump Failed, Iran Still Able to Quickly Make Nuke
1736634204805
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/24/us/politics/iran-nuclear-sites.html

A preliminary classified U.S. report says the American bombing of three nuclear sites in Iran set back the country’s nuclear program by only a few months, according to officials familiar with the findings.

The strikes sealed off the entrances to two of the facilities but did not collapse their underground buildings, the officials said the early findings concluded.

Before the attack, U.S. intelligence agencies had said that if Iran tried to rush to making a bomb, it would take about three months. After the U.S. bombing run and days of attacks by the Israeli Air Force, the report by the Defense Intelligence Agency estimated that the program had been delayed, but by less than six months.

The report also said that much of Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium was moved before the strikes, which destroyed little of the nuclear material. Iran may have moved some of that to secret locations.

Some Israeli officials said they also believed that the Iranian government had maintained small covert enrichment facilities so it could continue its nuclear program in the event of an attack on the larger facilities.

Other officials noted that the report found that the three nuclear sites — Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan — had suffered moderate to severe damage, with the facility at Natanz damaged the most. It is not clear whether the Iranians will try to rebuild the programs.

Former officials said that if Iran tried to quickly develop a bomb, it would be a relatively small and crude device. A miniaturized warhead would be far more difficult to produce, and the extent of damage to that more advanced research is not clear.

Current and former military officials had cautioned before the strike that any effort to destroy the Fordo facility, which is buried more than 250 feet under a mountain, would probably require waves of airstrikes, with days or even weeks of pounding the same spots.

U.S. Officials Concede They Don’t Know Whereabouts of Iran’s Uranium Stockpile
1750307267042283
>Rafael Mariano Grossi, the director of general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said he believed Tehran’s stockpile of near-bomb-grade nuclear material had been moved before the strikes.

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/22/us/politics/iran-uranium-stockpile-whereabouts.html

>A day after President Trump declared that Iran’s nuclear program had been “completely and totally obliterated” by American bunker-busting bombs and a barrage of missiles, the actual state of the program seemed far more murky, with senior officials conceding they did not know the whereabouts of Iran’s stockpile of near-bomb-grade uranium.

>“We are going to work in the coming weeks to ensure that we do something with that fuel and that’s one of the things that we’re going to have conversations with the Iranians about,” Vice President JD Vance told ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday, referring to a batch of uranium sufficient to make nine or ten atomic weapons. Nonetheless, he contended that the country’s potential to build a weapon had been set back substantially because it no longer had the equipment to turn that fuel into operative weapons.

>In a briefing for reporters on Sunday, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and the new chairman of the Joint Chiefs of staff, Dan Caine, avoided Mr. Trump’s maximalist claims of success. They said an initial battle-damage assessment of all three sites struck by Air Force B-2 bombers and Navy Tomahawk missiles showed “severe damage and destruction.”

Iran launches missiles at US base in Qatar in response to strikes

Iran has launched missiles at a US airbase in Qatar in response to strikes on its nuclear sites on Saturday

Qatar confirms the attack on the US-run Al Udeid base, calling it a "flagrant violation" and says it reserves the right to respond directly

It adds all the missiles were intercepted, while the Pentagon says there are no reports of US casualties

In Washington, Donald Trump and defence officials are holding a Situation Room meeting, two days after the US launched massive strikes against three nuclear facilities inside Iran

This was clearly a calculated and choreographed response by Iran and the ball is now in President Trump's court, Frank Gardner writes

It comes as Israel it has been targeting Tehran with "unprecedented force", including attacks on "access routes" to the Fordo nuclear site and Evin prison

Over a hundred people jabbed with syringes at French music festival

https://www.nbcnews.com/world/europe/hundred-people-jabbed-syringes-french-music-festival-rcna214683

Nearly 150 people were jabbed with syringes during a street music festival in France, the country’s interior ministry said, adding that authorities had arrested at least 12 suspects.

Across France, millions of people spilled out into the streets over the weekend to celebrate the annual Fête de la Musique. In Paris, the capital, authorities reported that there were three to four times as many people in public as normal.

The needle attacks involved 145 victims, including 13 in Paris, the French Interior Ministry told NBC News in a statement, adding that at least 12 people had been arrested.

In the northeastern French city of Metz, police arrested two individuals, including a “syringe attacker,” during a festival that broke all attendance records, Mayor François Grosdidier said in a post on Instagram.

“Risks are always present in wild...However, we had to deal with syringe attacks,” Grosdidier wrote.

The first syringe attack in Metz was reported at about 9:15 p.m. local time, he said, adding that the victims included 15 young women aged 14 to 20. The suspected syringe attacker had been arrested and handed over to the National Police, he added.

Netanyahu decided on Iran war last year, then sought to recruit Trump
1750648936527123
https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2025/06/23/netanyahu-iran-attack-nuclear-intelligence/
JERUSALEM — In the fall, long before President Donald Trump embarked on an effort to resolve concerns over Iran’s nuclear program through negotiations, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had already set Israel on the road to war, according to current and former Israeli officials.

After Israel decimated Iran’s air defenses in a missile skirmish and crippled its main ally, Hezbollah, in October, Netanyahu issued a general order to prepare for a strike, the current and former officials said. Israeli intelligence officials began huddling to compile lists of dozens of Iranian nuclear scientists and military leaders who could be targeted for assassination. Israel’s air force began to systematically take out air defenses in Lebanon, Syria and Iraq to clear the skies for future bombing runs against Iran.

Meanwhile, Israeli officials were pursuing another track in their preparations — to sway Washington. Israeli officials have long believed that military action with U.S. participation to target the Iranian nuclear program would be more effective than Israel going alone. On Saturday, Trump indeed joined the conflict, ordering U.S. forces, including B-2 strategic bombers, to strike three Iranian nuclear sites.

Throughout the fall, the Israelis had met with their Biden administration counterparts to discuss intelligence collected by both countries in the summer that showed Iranian nuclear scientists were gathering to resume theoretical research on weaponization, according to three people with knowledge of the matter. But U.S. intelligence analysts did not conclude that the Iranian leadership had made such a decision — an assessment U.S. spy agencies revisited and maintained throughout the spring under the new Trump administration and up until the time Israel launched strikes, said five people familiar with the conclusions.

Bodybuilder Beaten To Death With Hammer

https://www.ndtv.com/world-news/colombian-she-hulk-beaten-to-death-with-hammer-husband-found-dead-with-self-inflicted-wounds-8725817

43-year-old Colombian bodybuilder known as "She Hulk" was found beaten to death with a hammer, and her husband was also discovered dead with self-inflicted knife wounds. According to the New York Post, Zunilda Hoyos Mendez and her husband, Jarrod Gelling, 46, were found dead in their rental home in the Spanish town of Fuengirola on Thursday after a friend filed a missing person report saying that they had not seen the 43-year-old, who also went by Amy, in five days.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Ms Mendez with injuries indicating she had been killed with a hammer, while her American husband was discovered with what police have described as "apparent self-inflicted stab wounds," per the Post.

"Her body showed obvious signs of violence and that of the man's signs indicating a suicide-type death which is something an autopsy will have to confirm," Spanish National Police said.

According to Ms Mendez's family, the two were suffering marriage problems. The 43-year-old reportedly told relatives that her husband was being aggressive toward her over the past year, and the two intended to divorce following their trip, which would have ended with a bodybuilding competition in Portugal in a couple of weeks. "She was being abused and wanted a divorce," her family said.

The couple had travelled to southern Spain from Dubai. Ms Mendez's niece, Yuleydis, said that her aunt was going to help Gelling following a knee operation before travelling to Portugal. "For my aunt, it was her last trip with him - a farewell. She had taken the decision to divorce him, because of his aggressive behaviour," said Yuleydis.

"They had broken up already once and were apart for quite a while but then got back together again to try to resolve things, although the mistreatment continued," she added.

Trump Bombs Iran
trump_iran1
The United States launched strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities, President Trump said Saturday evening.

"We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan," Mr. Trump wrote on Truth Social. "All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home."

The president plans to address the nation at 10 p.m. ET, and CBS News will have live coverage.

"This is an HISTORIC MOMENT FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ISTAEL (sic), AND THE WORLD. IRAN MUST NOW AGREE TO END THIS WAR. THANK YOU!" Mr. Trump wrote in a follow up post.

The decision to directly involve the U.S. comes after more than a week of strikes by Israel on Iran that have moved to systematically eradicate the country's air defenses and offensive missile capabilities, while damaging its nuclear enrichment facilities. But U.S. and Israeli officials have said that American stealth bombers and a 30,000-lb. bunker-buster bomb they alone can carry offered the best chance of destroying heavily-fortified sites connected to the Iranian nuclear program, including the Fordo enrichment site buried deep underground.

Rubio Begs China to Clean Up Trump's Iran Mess (No, Seriously)
CczpHD4WoAAAjPP
https://www.reuters.com/world/china/us-urges-china-dissuade-iran-closing-strait-hormuz-2025-06-22/

WASHINGTON, June 22 (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Sunday called on China to encourage Iran to not shut down the Strait of Hormuz after Washington carried out strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.
Rubio's comments on Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo" show came after Iran's Press TV reported that the Iranian parliament approved a measure to close the Strait of Hormuz, through which around 20% of global oil and gas flows.

"I encourage the Chinese government in Beijing to call them about that, because they heavily depend on the Straits of Hormuz for their oil," said Rubio, who also serves as national security adviser.
"If they do that, it will be another terrible mistake. It's economic suicide for them if they do it. And we retain options to deal with that, but other countries should be looking at that as well. It would hurt other countries' economies a lot worse than ours."
Rubio said a move to close the strait would be a massive escalation that would merit a response from the U.S. and others.
The Chinese embassy in Washington did not immediately provide comment.
U.S. officials said it "obliterated" Iran's main nuclear sites using 14 bunker-buster bombs, more than two dozen Tomahawk missiles and over 125 military aircraft. The strikes mark an escalation in the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict.
Tehran has vowed to defend itself. Rubio on Sunday warned against retaliation, saying such an action would be "the worst mistake they've ever made."
He added that the U.S. is prepared to talk with Iran.

Trump drags the U.S. into another war in the Middle East.
https://www.axios.com/2025/06/21/us-strike-iran-nuclear-israel-trump

The U.S. military conducted air strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan on Sunday morning local time.

President Trump, who announced the "very successful attacks" on Truth Social, said he would deliver an address to the nation at 10pm ET.
Why it matters: Trump's decision to intervene directly in support of Israel's effort to dismantle Iran's nuclear program marks a historic escalation in the Middle East.
It's an intervention fraught with risks and uncertainty — one that Trump and many of his predecessors had sought to avoid, including through diplomacy with Iran.
The attack, which came on the ninth night of the unprecedented war between Israel and Iran, could provoke retaliation from Tehran against U.S. troops and military installations across the region.

Is this America first?

According to Channel2 Now, the suspect is from Romulus, Michigan. He was fatally shot by a church security guard after he allegedly attempted to carry out a violent attack during a morning service.

One person was injured at the church, which is located in Wayne - a city of about 17,000 people 26 miles (41 kilometers) east of Detroit. The incident took place around 11 AM local time, the church’s pastor, Bobby Kelly Jr, told the Detroit News.

Iran Nominates Trump for Nobel Peace Prize As He Threatens Neighboring Iran

Pakistan has announced its nomination of President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, crediting him with averting a major conflict in South Asia at a time when the U.S. leader is contemplating intervention in the Middle East.

"The Government of Pakistan has decided to formally recommend President Donald J. Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize, in recognition of his decisive diplomatic intervention and pivotal leadership during the recent India-Pakistan crisis," the Pakistani government's official X, formerly Twitter, account wrote in a post Friday.

The nomination comes just two days after Trump met with Pakistani Army Chief of Staff Field Marshall Asim Munir at the White House.

In addition to the four-day conflict between India and Pakistan, sparked by a deadly Islamist militant attack in India-administered Kashmir, one of the items discussed by the two men on Wednesday was the deepening conflict between Israel and Iran.

The two longtime foes have traded direct strikes against one another since Israel launched a massive series of attacks against Iran last week, alleging that Tehran was secretly moving toward producing a nuclear weapon, a claim denied by Iranian officials. Pakistan, which neighbors Iran, has repeatedly condemned Israel over its operations.

Yet Trump, whose administration had entered into talks with Iran aimed at reaching an agreement on the country's nuclear program, has backed the Israeli offensive and has openly contemplated joining the Israeli campaign through strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.

A statement released Thursday by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, a day after Trump's meeting with Munir, indicated that Trump was still holding out for a diplomatic breakthrough

AI company being sued by Disney, Universal retaliates by allowing lewd Disney chars with guns

https://www.wired.com/story/midjourney-generates-videos-of-disney-characters-amid-massive-copyright-lawsuit/

Midjourney’s new AI-generated video tool will produce animated clips featuring copyrighted characters from Disney and Universal, WIRED has found—including video of the beloved Pixar character Wall-E holding a gun.

It’s been a busy month for Midjourney. This week, the generative AI startup released its sophisticated new video tool, V1, which lets users make short animated clips from images they generate or upload. The current version of Midjourney’s AI video tool requires an image as a starting point; generating videos using text-only prompts is not supported.

The release of V1 comes on the heels of a very different kind of announcement earlier in June: Hollywood behemoths Disney and Universal filed a blockbuster lawsuit against Midjourney, alleging that it violates copyright law by generating images with the studios’ intellectual property.

Midjourney did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Disney and Universal reiterated statements made by its executives about the lawsuit, including Disney’s legal head Horacio Gutierrez alleging that Midjourney’s output amounts to “piracy.”

SpaceX Starship upper stage explodes during countdown to engine test firing

A big rocket made by SpaceX blew up during a test on Wednesday night at their launch site in Texas. Elon Musk, the boss of SpaceX, said it might have happened because a nitrogen tank popped.

The explosion was huge! It made a giant fireball, with bright flames and smoke everywhere, and pieces flew out like a volcano shooting lava.

Something kind of like this happened before, in 2016, when another SpaceX rocket blew up in Florida while getting ready for launch. That time, it was a helium tank that broke.

But SpaceX says this new explosion isn’t the same problem.

Elon Musk said online that it looks like a nitrogen tank inside the rocket broke, even though it wasn’t supposed to. If that’s really what happened, it would be the first time ever for this kind of tank.

The rocket was almost ready to test its big engines, but it exploded right before the test. Earlier in the week, they tried just one engine, and that worked fine.

Greenbelt, Maryland — Four men, including a government contracting officer for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and three owners and presidents of companies, have pleaded guilty for their roles in a decade-long bribery scheme involving at least 14 prime contracts worth more than $550 million in U.S. taxpayer dollars.

Roderick Watson, of Woodstock, Maryland, who worked as a USAID contracting officer, pled guilty to bribery of a public official; Walter Barnes, of Potomac, Maryland, pled guilty to conspiracy to commit bribery of a public official and securities fraud; Darryl Britt, of Myakka City, Florida, pled guilty to conspiracy to commit bribery of a public official; and Paul Young, of Columbia, Maryland, pled guilty to conspiracy to commit bribery of a public official.

In addition, Apprio and Vistant, both of which contracted with USAID, have agreed to admit criminal liability and enter into three-year deferred prosecution agreements (DPAs) in connection with criminal informations filed today in the District of Maryland. As part of these resolutions, both Apprio and Vistant admitted to engaging in a conspiracy to commit bribery of a public official and securities fraud. The DPAs entered into with Apprio and Vistant require each company to, among other obligations, provide ongoing cooperation with and disclosures to the Justice Department, implement a compliance and ethics program, and report to Justice Department regarding remediation and implementation of these compliance measures.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-hegseth-military-parade-birthday-b2771585.html

President Donald Trump raged at Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over Saturday’s military parade, arguing that the soldiers were “hamming it up,” biographer Michael Wolff has said.

Wolff appeared on The Daily Beast Podcast, saying that the president wanted a “menacing” show of force in honor of the Army’s 250th, and his 79th, birthday on June 14. Instead, Trump got a “festive” parade, said the author.

“He’s p***ed off at the soldiers,” he said. “He’s accusing them of hamming it up, and by that, he seems to mean that they were having a good time, that they were waving, that they were enjoying themselves and showing a convivial face rather than a military face.”

Social media users noted that the soldiers weren’t marching in lockstep during the parade as they made their way down Constitution Avenue in downtown Washington, D.C. Wolff claimed that Trump blamed Hegseth for the lacklustre performance.

“He kind of reamed out Hegseth for this,” Wolff said of the president. “Apparently, there was a phone call, and he said to Hegseth, the tone was all wrong. Why was the tone wrong? Who staged this? There was the tone problem. Trump, he keeps repeating himself.”

Sig Sauer, faced with lawsuits over a popular pistol, gets protection in New Hampshire

https://apnews.com/article/new-hampshire-sig-sauer-ps320-lawsuits-654278c792e8e1309d70e3f69ff19bfe
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Faced with mounting lawsuits over a popular pistol, New Hampshire-based Sig Sauer asked for — and got — protection in the form of a new state law that makes it harder to take the gunmaker to court.

Supporters in the Republican-led Legislature said the law was needed to help a major employer. The lawsuits say Sig Sauer’s P320 pistol can go off without the trigger being pulled, an allegation the company denies.

The law covers all gun manufacturers and federal firearm licensees in product liability claims regarding the “absence or presence” of four specific safety features. One of those features is an external mechanical safety that people suing Sig Sauer say should be standard on the P320, based on its design. Claims can still be filed over manufacturing defects.

Those who have sued Sig Sauer in New Hampshire and elsewhere include police, federal law enforcement officers, and other experienced gun users from multiple states who say they were wounded by the gun.

California College Student Reveals He Used ChatGPT for Final Project Before Graduation ‘Your Future Doctor is Doing This Same Exact Thing’

The evolution of artificial intelligence in recent years is staggering to put it mildly. It seems that more and more people are investing money and resources in creating information vacuums, so that no one will ever need to read a book or attend a class again. At least, that’s what one student at UCLA in California thought, as he shared his final project and revealing it was done with the help of ChatGPT. If you were looking for a sign of the world turning into the Bad Place, this is it.

A video shows an unnamed student at the University of California, Los Angeles, displaying his laptop screen to the camera. However, the focus is not on the laptop itself but on the content displayed: a ChatGPT prompt and its corresponding response. Why is this particular prompt and response significant? It was the response that helped him pass his final project and graduate

The video was part of the school’s graduation ceremony and was broadcast live, as well as on the large screens in the theatre where the ceremony took place. So, not only did we see that he cheated to graduate, but so did the entire school and the staff there. However, there has been no revocation of the degree, and UCLA has not commented on the situation. However, that doesn’t mean that they don’t plan to at some point in the future.

US Supreme Court upholds Tennessee law banning youth transgender care
1748848116296958
https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-supreme-court-rules-against-challenge-youth-transgender-care-ban-2025-06-18/

WASHINGTON, June 18 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court upheld a Republican-backed ban in Tennessee on gender-affirming medical care for transgender minors on Wednesday in a setback for transgender rights that could bolster efforts by states to defend other measures targeting transgender people.

The court, in a 6-3 ruling powered by its conservative justices, decided that the ban does not violate the U.S. Constitution's 14th Amendment promise of equal protection, as challengers to the law had argued. The ruling affirmed a lower court's decision that backed Tennessee's law, which bars medical treatments such as puberty blockers and hormones for people under age 18 experiencing gender dysphoria. The Supreme Court's three liberal justices dissented.

"Tennessee concluded that there is an ongoing debate among medical experts regarding the risks and benefits associated with administering puberty blockers and hormones to treat gender dysphoria, gender identity disorder and gender incongruence. (The law's) ban on such treatments responds directly to that uncertainty," conservative Chief Justice John Roberts wrote for the court's majority.

Gender dysphoria is the clinical diagnosis for significant distress that can result from an incongruence between a person's gender identity and the sex assigned at birth.

Chase Strangio, a transgender American Civil Liberties lawyer who represented some of the challengers in the case, called the ruling "a devastating loss for transgender people, our families and everyone who cares about the Constitution."

Transgender rights as an issue has become a major flashpoint in the U.S. culture wars. Since returning to office in January, Republican President Donald Trump has taken a hardline stance against transgender rights.

Trump on his 'unconditional surrender' demand to Iran: 'I've had it'
1749877207949457
https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-presented-range-options-iran-sources/story?id=122962898

Following a meeting in the Situation Room on Tuesday, President Donald Trump told top advisers he approved of attack plans for Iran that were presented to him, but said he was waiting to see if Iran would be willing to discuss ending their nuclear program, sources familiar with the matter said.

The news of the attack plan approval was first reported by the Wall Street Journal. Trump has not made any final decision on U.S. involvement and while the attack plans are ready to go, he has yet to decide whether to give a final order and go through with them.

President Trump on Wednesday afternoon wrapped another meeting in the Situation Room with his national security team.

It would be expected that the president would be presented with attack plans for approval in the Situation Room while considering whether to enter the conflict.

"As President Trump said himself today, all options remain on the table," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said.

FOX NEWS TAKES PRO-WAR POSITION AS MAGA MEDIA FEUDS OVER ISRAEL-IRAN CONFLICT
1719028821722226
As conservative radio host Clay Travis opened his mouth Tuesday night on Fox News, he was hyper-aware of the viewer-in-chief.

President Trump is “probably watching” this show, Travis said to Fox host Sean Hannity as both men urged the president to eliminate Iran’s nuclear program.

“We have to do it,” Travis said, adding, “We can’t go halfway here.”

The president’s television habits once again have serious foreign policy implications as the Trump administration weighs further US involvement in Iran.

The Israel-Iran conflict has exacerbated a deep rift in MAGA media over how the US conducts itself abroad, especially when it comes to Israel. Republican hawks are clashing with MAGA isolationists, and many of the arguments are happening on social media sites like X, as well as podcasts like Steve Bannon’s “War Room.”

But Trump’s favorite network, Fox News, isn’t making as much room for debate. Guest after guest on Fox has played to Trump’s ego — simultaneously praising the president and pushing for US intervention through his television screen. (At one point, Fox host Kayleigh McEnany, a former Trump aide, waxed poetic about him being a Churchillian “man of action.”)

On Hannity’s show Tuesday night, weekend host Mark Levin literally screamed on-air as he depicted a battle of “good versus evil” and doubted the patriotism of the isolationist camp.

Levin’s view is dominant on Fox’s air. While some guests on Fox have warned against escalation, they’ve been few and far between, and not nearly as loud or omnipresent as Levin.

Tucker Carlson’s absence is palpable. After he was fired from Fox in 2023, Carlson built himself a digital media platform with a big megaphone on X, as he proved again Tuesday night by teasing a contentious interview with Sen. Ted Cruz.

FRAUD!:NY county voting machine says 0 votes for Kamala 2024 election
_115588640_gettyimages-1229620832-1
The voting machines in Ramapo registered zero votes for Harris.

Experts say it is statistically improbable for machines to register valid down-ballot votes while leaving the presidential field blank—especially across multiple machines in the same precinct

Adding to the concern, the machines were reportedly updated just weeks before the election using software from a private testing vendor, Pro V&V, with no public documentation of what those updates included. This lack of transparency has become a central point of concern for the plaintiffs.

If machine malfunctions are confirmed, they may trigger audits or reviews in other counties.
There could be mounting pressure—both at the state and federal level—to reform voting machine standards, particularly regarding software updates and certification.
Lawmakers may be pushed to reconsider electronic-only systems, favouring hand-marked ballots with verifiable paper trails.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/06/18/trump-flag-poles-white-house/84257902007/
WASHINGTON ― Massive new flag poles hoisting United States flags have been installed on the White House grounds after President Donald Trump said they were desperately needed and that he would pay for them himself.

The placement of the two 88-foot-tall flagpoles — one on the north lawn and one on the south lawn — began early in the morning of June 18.

A U.S. flag was later raised on the south lawn around 1 p.m. at a ceremony that included Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law Jared Kushner. The couple was at the White House to watch the swearing in of Charles Kushner, Jared's father, as U.S. ambassador to France.

"Only we can bomb hospitals" says Israel
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared in a post on X that Israel "will exact the full price from the tyrants in Tehran," after a missile hit a hospital in the Jewish state.

"This morning, Iran's terrorist tyrants launched missiles at Soroka Hospital in Beersheba and at a civilian population in the center of the country," Netanyahu said in the Hebrew-language post on X, according to a translation into English.

"Significant damage to the largest hospital in southern Israel," Fox News Channel's chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst noted in a post on X. "It took a direct hit from an Iranian ballistic missile."

Trump Warns Nation US Isn't At War With To Surrender Or He'll Kill Their Leader
President Donald Trump on Tuesday warned Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei that he is an “easy target” and “our patience is wearing thin,” before demanding Tehran surrender in its escalating conflict with Israel.

“We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“He is an easy target, but is safe there - We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now,” he wrote after declaring “total control” over Iran’s airspace.

“But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin.”

Trump in a subsequent post made clear what he does want from Iran: “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!”

The Trump administration has insisted that the U.S. is not directly involved in what Israel called a preemptive strike against Iran on Friday, which kicked off five days of missile fire between the two regional powers.

But Trump’s latest comments suggest the U.S. is now at least willing to threaten direct military intervention as it backs Israel’s effort to bring Tehran to heel.

Former Coast Guard officer charged with threatening to kill President Trump

A former Coast Guard lieutenant and sharpshooter has been arrested for allegedly making threats to kill President Trump.

A 19-page Federal Bureau of Investigation affidavit lists out scores of alleged social media threats by Peter Stinson, who served 33 years in the U.S. Coast Guard through 2021, and also served as a Federal Emergency Management Agency instructor.

The social media posts quoted in charging documents, which span from 2020 to 2025, include online statements that suggested using a gun, a knife and poison against Mr. Trump. In several cases, Stinson allegedly said he didn't have the skills to kill Mr. Trump himself, but said he's willing to "serve in a support capacity" or raise money for a "contract hit."

Federal investigators also allege within 48 hours of the 2024 attempted assassination of Mr. Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, Stinson posted: "Just three inches and today would be a different day," followed by criticisms of the shooter's skills.

Prosecutors allege Stinson made a series of menacing social media posts last week, including on Wednesday writing, "When he dies, the party is going to be yuge."

Stinson was charged with making threats against the president. On Monday afternoon, a federal judge ordered Stinson to be detained pending further hearings in his case in Virginia.

Investigators said Stinson "has self-identified as a member of ANTIFA," a loosely affiliated political movement short for "anti-fascist."

Trump violates States rights to kill trans folks.
https://calmatters.org/health/2025/02/trump-executive-order-transgender-health/

A Los Angeles health clinic says it’s losing federal funding as a result of President Donald Trump’s executive orders targeting transgender people.

St. John’s Community Health, one of the largest free and reduced-cost providers in Los Angeles, reported that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday terminated a $1.6 million grant that was supposed to support its transgender health and social services program.

St. John’s is the first California health provider to publicly report service impacts as a result of the Trump administration’s actions. According to a letter from the CDC, the grant was ended in order to comply with an executive order requiring federal agencies to only recognize two genders.

“At St. John’s we believe everyone has a fundamental human right to health care. You can disagree with quote-on-quote gender ideology and how people may choose to live their lives, but that doesn’t give you the right to strip away their access to health care,” said Jim Mangia, president and chief executive of St. John’s Community Health.

The grant, which started in 2022, was funded through the CDC’s HIV prevention program. It allowed St. John’s to operate a program for transgender adults that included sexually transmitted infection and HIV testing, health education and connections to social services including housing, substance use treatment and food stamps, Mangia said. More than 500 people received services through the grant annually.

Last week, along with thousands of clinics across the country, St. John’s experienced a brief suspension in its access to more than $18 million of federal funding as a result of a separate executive order and internal budget memo that attempted to broadly freeze federal aid.

Officers injured as Portland rioters breach ICE building with explosives and rocks

Multiple police officers were injured in Portland, Oregon Saturday night during a violent riot at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility.

A mob launched fireworks, smoke grenades and threw rocks at federal law enforcement, as they broke glass and forcibly entered the ICE facility, Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News Digital.

Four officers were injured during the attack, though federal law enforcement was able to secure the facility.

The riot came after the city hosted a "No Kings" protest at 1 p.m., which officials labeled a "large-scale free speech gathering."

Press group suing LAPD over cop violence at protests

>Michael Nigro was in his element, snapping photos of a phalanx of Los Angeles Police Department officers pushing back protesters, when his neck jerked to the side and his helmet registered a percussive "ding."
>The non-lethal bullet did not injure the veteran freelance photographer, thanks to that protection.
>"It felt very very intentional," Nigro tells NPR of the incident at a rally against ICE raids last week, "a chilling effect to convince us to go away and not document what's occurring."
>Press advocates say such episodes have been common at the often charged and sometimes violent protests that have played out in Los Angeles over the past 10 days. They say law enforcement officials at the protests have not always demonstrated restraint or distinguished between people who pose a threat and others who are reporting on developments.
>On Monday, the Los Angeles Press Club and the investigative reporting site Status Coup filed a lawsuit against the city of Los Angeles and the chief of the Los Angeles Police Department in federal court, alleging that officers at the demonstrations are routinely violating journalists' rights.
>"Being a journalist in Los Angeles is now a dangerous profession," states the complaint, filed in the Western Division of the Central District of California. "LAPD unlawfully used force and the threat of force against Plaintiffs, their members and other journalists to intimidate them and interfere with their constitutional right to document public events as the press."

Trump forces US Marines to detain Army Veterans going to VA appointments

https://apnews.com/article/los-angeles-marines-man-detained-491a1a6a1328ade60cb3e2e341336e53
Shortly after they began guarding a Los Angeles federal building Friday, U.S. Marines detained a man who had walked onto the property and did not immediately hear their commands to stop.

The brief detention marked the first time federal troops have detained a civilian since they were deployed to the nation’s second-largest city by President Donald Trump in response to protests over the administration’s immigration arrests. The Marines were activated earlier this week but began their duties Friday.

The man, Marcos Leao, was later released without charges and said the Marines were just doing their jobs.

A U.S. Army North spokesperson said the troops have the authority to temporarily detain people under specific circumstances. He said those detentions end when the person can be transferred to “appropriate civilian law enforcement personnel.”

Leao’s detention shows how the troops’ deployment is putting them closer to carrying out law enforcement actions. Already, National Guard soldiers have been providing security on raids as Trump has promised as part of his immigration crackdown.

Leao, a former Army combat engineer, said he was rushing to get to a Veterans Affairs appointment when he stepped past a piece of caution tape outside the federal building. He looked up to find a Marine sprinting toward him.

“I had my headphones in, so I didn’t hear them,” Leao said. “They told me to get down on the ground. I basically complied with everything they were saying.”

Leao was placed in zip ties and held for more than two hours by the Marines and members of the National Guard, he said. After Los Angeles police arrived, he was released without charges, he said. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department said they responded to a call at the scene but weren’t needed, and no charges were filed.

“I didn’t know it was going to be this intense here,” he said later.

The Sackler drug lord empire was started by Arthur, Mortimer, and Raymond Sackler, the three children of Galician Jewish immigrants, grew up in Brooklyn in the 1930s [1]. They have been described as the "most evil family in America",[5][6][7][8] and "the worst drug dealers in history".[9][10]

Historic Settlement Bars Sacklers from US Opioid Sales

In a historic settlement totaling $7.4 billion, the Sackler family has agreed to permanently cease all opioid sales in the United States and relinquish ownership of Purdue Pharma, the maker of the powerful painkiller OxyContin.

This agreement—still considered a settlement in principle—represents the largest resolution to date involving individuals held responsible for the opioid epidemic.

New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin and Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that all 55 attorneys general—from every U.S. state and territory—have signed onto the settlement, initially secured in January.
Under the terms of the deal, Purdue Pharma will be transformed into a public benefit company, with profits directed toward opioid addiction treatment and prevention. The Sacklers, who deny any wrongdoing, will contribute billions from their personal fortune—without filing for bankruptcy themselves—to a national opioid abatement trust.

2 people shot, including suspect in custody, during ‘No Kings’ protest in Salt Lake City, Utah

The Salt Lake City Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred during a “No Kings” protest Saturday night, leaving one person with critical injuries. An estimated 10,000 people were marching at the time.

Salt Lake City Police Chief Brian Redd told media shortly after 10 p.m., about two hours after the incident, that gunshots had been fired as protesters were walking near 151 S. State Street. Police responded immediately, finding one person with life-threatening injuries.

It wasn’t clear whether the first responding officers had heard or seen the shooting, or what alerted them to the incident, Redd said.

Officers received immediate witness information from people in the crowd and pursued the suspected shooter to 200 East and 100 South. It was discovered he too had a gunshot wound, Redd said, and he was treated and taken to a hospital under police observation.

Two more people who Redd said were involved in the incident were also arrested. No details about their possible involvement were provided. Redd said police are not looking for any additional people, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Former Illinois lawmaker sentenced to over 7 years in prison for corruption

Former Illinois Democratic lawmaker Michael Madigan was sentenced to more than seven years in prison following a federal corruption trial in Chicago.

Madigan, the longest serving legislative leader in U.S. history, will also be required to pay a $2.5 million fine following a February conviction on 10 of 23 counts of corruption.

“I’m truly sorry for putting the people of the state of Illinois through this,” Madigan, the former speaker of the state house, said before the sentencing according to the Associated Press.

“I tried to do my best to serve the people of the state of Illinois,” he said. “I am not perfect.”

His defense attorneys pushed for five years probation, hoping that he could stay at home to care for his wife Shirley, who’s suffering from aging complications.

However, U.S. District Judge John Robert Blakey showed little leniency for the 83 year old who prosecutors said undertook corrupt dealings for years with supporting evidence from 60 witnesses and stacks of documents.

“Being great is hard. Being honest is not. It’s hard to commit crimes. It actually takes effort,” Blakey said during the hearing

The Democrat was once lauded for his historic career, after serving as speaker for the Illinois General Assembly for 50 years.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah Streicker said Madigan “fit right into the mold of yet another corrupt leader in Illinois,” as reported by the AP.

As a result of Streicker’s court presentation, jurors found Madigan guilty for overarching racketeering conspiracy on six counts while acquitting him on seven other charges.

GOP tax bill would cost poor Americans $1,600 a year and boost highest earners by $12,000

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Republican tax bill approved by the U.S. House of Representatives would cost the poorest Americans roughly $1,600 a year while increasing the income of the wealthiest households by an average of $12,000 annually, according to a new analysis released Thursday by the Congressional Budget Office.

Middle-income households would see a boost of roughly $500 to $1,000 per year under Republican President Donald Trump’s tax bill, the CBO found.

The cuts to the lowest-income households come from proposed cuts to social safety net programs including Medicaid and a food assistance program for lower-income people, known as Supplemental Nutrition and Assistance Program.

The bill also proposes expanding work requirements to receive food aid and new “community engagement requirements” of at least 80 hours per month of work, education or service for able-bodied adults without dependents to receive Medicaid. Some proposed tax breaks would be temporary, including a tax break on tips and overtime, car loan interest and a $4,000 increase in the standard deduction for seniors.

A group named Culpeper Democrats on Facebook said it happened at their No Kings rally on James Madison Highway, which police confirmed.

The Culpeper Police Department said officers were monitoring the area as the protest ended when 21-year-old Joseph R. Checklick Jr. of Culpeper "intentionally" accelerated an SUV into the dispersing crowd.

At least one person was hit, according to police, but they said they hadn't received reports of any injuries.

In their Facebook post, the Culpeper Democrats group thanked the police department for its "quick response and for keeping our protest safe!"

Checklick is being held without bond at the Culpeper County Jail, police said, and additional charges could still be filed.

The Culpeper Police Department said this is an active and ongoing investigation and is asking witnesses to come forward.

https://dailyboulder.com/journalist-epstein-showed-me-disturbing-photos-of-trump-with-topless-young-girls-fbi-may-have-them/

Bestselling author and journalist Michael Wolff says Jeffrey Epstein personally showed him photos of Donald Trump with topless young girls — and he believes the FBI may now have those images.

“They were in the safe,” Wolff said. “And I have seen him [Epstein] on other occasions take them out of the safe.”

Wolff shared the story on The Court of History podcast with former Clinton adviser Sidney Blumenthal and historian Sean Wilentz, claiming Epstein casually showed him disturbing Polaroids during a conversation after Trump was elected president.

“He said, ‘Wait a minute, I gotta show you something,’” Wolff recalled. “And then he went into his safe and he came out with photographs. They were Polaroids, I think, and he kind of spread them out like playing cards. And it was Trump.”

“I think there were a dozen of them,” he continued, “and it was Trump with girls of an uncertain age at Epstein’s Palm Beach house, where all of the things that [Epstein] would ultimately be accused of took place.”

“I remember very vividly three of them. There are two in which … topless girls are sitting on Trump’s lap, and then a third in which he has a stain on the front of his pants, and the girls are kind of pointing at it, sort of bent over laughing … three or four girls, and those are the ones I specifically remember,” Wolff said.

Groypers Old Party

IN THE WAKE OF THE LOS ANGELES ICE RAIDS and the protests in response to them, right-wing media figures are starting to demand a ban on all “third-world immigration,” even for people immigrating legally.

Advocates of a ban, like the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh and right-wing media personality Jack Posboiec, don’t exactly spell out what countries would be included—er, excluded. But presumably, any such ban would fall mostly on nonwhite immigrants. That’s a big shift from the rhetoric of just a few years ago, when even vocal critics of illegal immigration said they just wanted immigrants to come “the right way”—i.e., legally.

All that has been nirvana for Nick Fuentes, the leader of the young white nationalists who call themselves “groypers,” a reference to an obese version of the Pepe the Frog meme.

Florida legalizes vehicular Manslaughter

Ron DeSantis Says Floridians Have Right to Hit Protesters With Cars

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has said Floridians have a right to hit protesters with their car if they need to "flee for your safety."

DeSantis was speaking on The Rubin Report on Wednesday when he said: "We also have a policy that if you're driving on one of those streets and a mob comes and surrounds your vehicle, and threatens you, you have a right to flee for your safety.

"And so if you drive off and you hit one of these people, that's their fault for impinging on you."

DeSantis' comments come ahead of the "No Kings" protests planned for June 14. Protest organizers have said the demonstrations are non-violent and are providing deescalation training to people taking part.

Molly Best, deputy press secretary for the Executive Office of the Governor of Florida, told Newsweek: "In Florida, violence is not condoned, and residents have the right to defend themselves and their families."

Why It Matters
A court in 2017 found that driving a car into a protest was not an act of self-defense, as James Alex Fields Jr., was found guilty of murder for hitting and killing civil rights activist Heather Heyer, a counter-protester at the Unite the Right Rally in 2017. Now, the governor of Florida is telling people they have a right to hit protesters with their car if they feel attacked.

DeSantis is not the only governor calling for more aggressive tactics against protesters, as Greg Abbott has called in the National Guard to quell demonstrations in Texas.

What To Know
The Florida governor was speaking with host Dave Rubin about the ongoing protests in Los Angeles against ICE raids and the protests against the Trump administration planned for this weekend.

Texas votes to fortify their plants with nutritious metals

>House Bill 49 shields oil producers, landowners, and treatment facilities from legal liability if treated water causes harm, unless there is gross negligence or criminal behavior.
These are the same retards who claim fracking water is safe to drink but refuse to drink it when challenged

https://www.wfaa.com/article/news/local/abbott-signs-law-permitting-use-of-fracking-wastewater/287-89df9861-29c7-4faa-b658-d651f94013ae

JOHNSON COUNTY, Texas — For Texas farmers and ranchers, clean land and water aren’t luxuries — they’re lifelines. But a new state law has farmers and environmental advocates raising serious concerns.

Governor Greg Abbott has signed a law that allows oil and gas companies to treat and sell fracking wastewater — also known as produced water — for reuse. That could include discharging it into rivers and streams or even applying it on farmland for crop irrigation.

The move comes as the state faces a growing water shortage due to population growth, aging infrastructure, and prolonged drought conditions. Supporters say the law is a way to supplement water supplies and promote recycling. Critics say it could contaminate the very land Texans depend on for food and survival.

Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller believes the concept has potential — if it’s done right.

“Well, we need water," Miller said. "We don’t really care what the source is as long as it’s good, clean water that we can grow crops with. Fracking water would be fine."

Miller said the goal won't be just to treat the water, but to fully remove harmful substances like heavy metals to ensure it's clean and safe. He added that there are methods to achieve that, and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality would be responsible for regulating the process.

“As long as this water meets those strict guidelines, I don’t have a problem with it," Miller added. "We need the water, whatever source we can get it from.”

US Manufacturer closes, no one wants factory or its jobs

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The Pixelle paper mill in Chillicothe is set to officially shut its doors on Aug. 10.

The company issued an updated notice Tuesday morning, announcing the official closure date.

Pixelle Specialty Solutions first announced the closure of its facility at 232 E. 8th St. in April, citing an effort to “align its operational footprint with long-term business objectives” as one of the reasons.

The company said the closure would happen in phases to relocate most operations to the manufacturer’s Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, location.

The announcement sparked a response from state leaders and lawmakers, including Gov. Mike DeWine, senators Bernie Moreno and Jon Husted and Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost. Moreno called the closure "corporate greed" while DeWine described the situation as aggravating.

Moreno said he spoke with the owners in April, who agreed with him to pause the mill’s closure until the end of the year.

He released the following statement Tuesday evening:

“I’m devastated for Chillicothe. For over 200 years, this community has been built around this paper mill, allowing generations of Ohio workers to thrive and sustain their families,” said Moreno. “But decades of globalization have left workers like this behind, shipping their jobs overseas for cheap labor, and, for too long, Republicans have forgotten who we were sent to Washington to represent. We must defend these workers and their way of life. When I was elected, I made a promise to always put Ohio first in DC and I will never stop fighting for communities like Chillicothe. ”

Trump demands soldiers stop complaining about unpaid LA deployment
1743944753817754
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jun/12/los-angeles-national-guard-troops-marines-morale
California national guards troops and marines deployed to Los Angeles to help restore order after days of protest against the Trump administration have told friends and family members they are deeply unhappy about the assignment and worry their only meaningful role will be as pawns in a political battle they do not want to join.

Three different advocacy organisations representing military families said they had heard from dozens of affected service members who expressed discomfort about being drawn into a domestic policing operation outside their normal field of operations. The groups said they have heard no countervailing opinions.

“The sentiment across the board right now is that deploying military force against our own communities isn’t the kind of national security we signed up for,” said Sarah Streyder of the Secure Families Initiative, which represents the interests of military spouses, children and veterans.

“Families are scared not just for their loved ones’ safety, although that’s a big concern, but also for what their service is being used to justify.”

Chris Purdy of the Chamberlain Network, whose stated mission is to “mobilize and empower veterans to protect democracy”, said he had heard similar things from half a dozen national guard members. “Morale is not great, is the quote I keep hearing,” he said.

The marines and the California national guard did not respond to invitations to comment.

Trump has taken the unusual step of ordering 4,000 national guard members to Los Angeles without the consent of California’s governor, Gavin Newsom, saying that the city risked being “obliterated” by violent protesters without them. Earlier this week, he also activated 700 marines from the Twentynine Palms base two hours’ drive to the east, describing Los Angeles as a “trash heap” that was in danger of burning to the ground.

Benjamin Netanyahu Flees to Athens as Iranian Retaliation Begins
trump-chair-02052025-1
https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/article-857619

The Wing of Zion, Israel’s own version of Air Force One, took off from Ben-Gurion Airport on Friday morning as Israel initiated an assault on Iranian nuclear facilities as part of Operation Rising Lion, Israeli media reported.

The aircraft, which serves Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog as their official vessel of transportation during international visits, departed for Athens on Friday morning amid fears of an Iranian retaliatory attack.

The aircraft was also previously flown out of the Nevatim Airbase, in the northern Negev, during Iran’s attack on Israel in April 2024.

Shortly after Wing of Zion departed for Greece, IDF Spokesman Brig.-Gen. Effie Defrin told a press conference on Friday morning that Iran had launched over 100 drones toward Israel.

The IDF has not officially confirmed that every single drone was shot down, and there could be many more launched, but at this time, enough were shot down to make the home front instructions temporarily more lenient.

The instructions could quickly become strict again at some point if and when Iran launches another large attack.

Yonah Jeremy Bob contributed to this report.

This is a developing story.

Senator Padilla set up by the FBI
Sen. Alex Padilla Tells MSNBC FBI ‘Escorted’ Him To Trump DHS Presser They Claim He Crashed

https://www.mediaite.com/media/news/sen-alex-padilla-tells-msnbc-fbi-escorted-him-to-trump-dhs-presser-they-claim-he-crashed

Sen. Alex Padilla (D-CA) told MSNBC’s Jacob Soboroff that he was “escorted” to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s press conference by FBI agents, where he was then manhandled by agents under the claim they didn’t know who he was.

Sen. Padilla found himself at the center of a maelstrom when he tried to ask a question Thursday at Noem’s briefing on ICE protests in Los Angeles and was brought to the ground and handcuffed by Secret Service and FBI agents. Noem and her agents falsely claimed Padilla didn’t identify himself as a U.S. senator and accused him of “lunging” in a threatening manner.

The incident sparked widespread shock and criticism, and an impassioned response from Sen. Padilla after his release.

On Thursday night’s edition of MSNBC’s The Beat with Ari Melber, Padilla gave his first sit-down after his release, and called out several inaccuracies. He told Soboroff he didn’t “barge” into the presser, he was signed in and escorted, and was listening in the room for 10 minutes before he tried to ask a question.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A Republican South Carolina House member who prosecutors say used the screen name “joebidennnn69” has been arrested and charged with 10 counts of distributing sexual abuse material involving children.

RJ May was arrested Wednesday at his Lexington County home after a lengthy investigation and is scheduled to appear in federal court on Thursday.

An indictment says the three-term Republican used several online names including “joebidennnn69” to exchange files on the Kik social media network.

The indictment didn’t contain any additional details on the charges, which carry prison terms of five to 20 years upon conviction.

May is a political consultant who has angered fellow House Republicans by running campaigns for candidates running against GOP incumbents in primaries.

After his election in 2020, May helped create the Freedom Caucus, a group of the House’s most conservative members who have run their own candidate against the Republican House speaker and refuse to join the Majority Caucus because they say it requires a loyalty pledge.

The mainstream House Republicans aren’t the true conservative heart of the GOP, the group said.

Stephen Miller sells Senate on White House border security plan
1749688168046705
https://www.politico.com/live-updates/2025/06/12/congress/stephen-miller-border-security-plan-00402994

Top White House adviser Stephen Miller lobbied Senate Republicans Thursday to support approving an influx of cash for immigration enforcement in President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill,” seeking to rally the conference amid some internal divisions about the level of funding for border security.

Sens. Lindsey Graham, chair of the Senate Budget Committee, and Rand Paul, who leads the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs panel, are expected to release competing proposals for how much money to spend on border security activities and infrastructure. Paul, whose committee has official jurisdiction over this portion of the GOP tax and spending package, has suggested he supports paring back the tens of billions of dollars that would be made available through the House-passed version of the megabill.

Sen. Ron Johnson, a key holdout on the larger legislation, said there was previously “frustration” among some members about the lack of clarity around the administration’s justification for requesting a certain dollar amount be met for border security efforts, adding that senators were looking for “some basic numbers because they weren’t quite adding up.”

Senate Homeland was instructed in the budget resolution paving the way for the megabill to spend as much as $175 billion, the vast majority of which would be for border security.

After Miller’s presentation, Johnson said he believed the administration’s border security funding pitch was sound, even if it was hard to predict what it would ultimately cost: “I don’t think we’re gonna move the number up, but we’re not going to shortchange it ... This is a mess we have to clean up.”

4 Escape From World's Shitiest Migrant Prison Camp
jail
Apparently the wall they breached was just wire mesh and drywall. Genuinely.

Four detainees escaped when tensions boiled over at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility known as Delaney Hall on Thursday in Newark, the Department of Homeland Security confirms.

Officials have not said how the detainees managed to escape or when.

"Additional law enforcement partners have been brought in to find these escapees and a [be on the lookout] has been disseminated," DHS said in a statement Friday. "We encourage the public to call 911 or the ICE Tip Line: 866-DHS-2-ICE if they have information that may lead to the locating of these individuals."

On Thursday night, tensions rose after reports of inhumane conditions and lack of food inside the federal immigration detention center. One woman whose husband was held inside told CBS News New York that a fight broke out during lunch.

Family members said detainees were allegedly not fed for 20 hours and, even then, were given only a small amount of food.

"We came to visit one family member we have here inside. He called yesterday saying that he was very worried about what was happening inside, because they weren't feeding them, they weren't getting food and everybody got crazy," one family member said.

One man who was recently released said he was held there for 28 days and described being treated worse than an animal. He said the conditions were unhygienic, he wasn't given enough food to eat and no one would answer questions about why they were being held.

The Growing Threat of Political Violence From the Left

At a recent protest in Midtown Manhattan—one of many against Donald Trump's administration—a pair of masked women stood quietly outside the stone lions that loom over the New York Public Library, a life-sized cutout of Luigi Mangione propped between them.

No one seemed to mind. As chants against authoritarianism echoed down Fifth Avenue and homemade signs called for due process and migrant rights, Mangione's effigy stood unchallenged—just another figure in one particular demonstration's crowded landscape.

Mangione, 26, who is charged with shooting and killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in a targeted attack last December, remains something of an enigma more than six months since he was arrested in Pennsylvania in connection with Thompson's murder. His political views — or what are known of them — are contradictory if not incoherent. He was the highly educated scion of a well-off Baltimore family who had no obvious beef with the capitalist system of which he benefited. Mangione wrote about his chronic back injury, but he was never insured by UnitedHealth.

None of that has stopped a left-wing activist movement from embracing him and coopting his image as a vigilante fighting against the perceived wrongs of the American healthcare system. In today's fractured political climate, such selective silence is becoming increasingly common.

Traitor president Honors Violent, Treasonous Insurrectionists
gimmethatone
Donald Trump, famous for ordering a violent mob to attempt to storm Congress and overturn the results of the 2020 election, took a small break from rage tweeting about sending in another 10,000 soldiers to quell a protest that has left upwards of 20 cars burnt, to honor the memories of the treasonous leaders of a violent, years long insurrection that left roughly seven hundred thousand Americans dead.

When questioned about the apparent hypocrisy of honoring murderous traitors while wildly overstepping his boundaries as president to protect trash cans from being burnt in a two block region of Los Angeles, Trump simply shrugged and said "Look, this LA thing has got everyone distracted from the fact that I still haven't released the Epstein files. I've got to milk it for all it's worth."

https://www.the-independent.com/news/world/americas/us-politics/military-base-names-robert-e-lee-trump-b2767582.html

President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he is restoring the names of Confederate traitors who fought to keep Black people enslaved to American military bases across the country despite Congress mandating their removal in a law enacted over his veto five years ago.

Speaking to active-duty troops at Fort Bragg in North Carolina — which had been renamed Fort Liberty under President Joe Biden — Trump told the assembled soldiers he would also be restoring the names of Fort Pickett, Fort Hood, Fort Rucker, Fort Polk, Fort AP Hill and Fort Robert E. Lee.

All of those bases are in the south — which formed the former pro-slavery confederacy — and were named by southern lawmakers who sought to honor the “Lost Cause” of the fight against emancipating Black slaves.

“We won a lot of battles out of those forts — it's no time to change,” said Trump, who said he was “very superstitious” and therefore against renaming the bases despite Congress ordering it done in the waning months of his first term.

Trump says protesting his birthday military parade isn't allowed, will be "met with heavy force"

President Donald Trump has warned that people who protest at his planned military parade on June 14 will be met “with very heavy force.”

The parade, held this Saturday in Washington, D.C., will mark the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary. It is also Trump’s birthday. He’s expected to speak at the event.

Speaking to reporters Tuesday in the Oval Office, Trump said he was unaware of plans to protest the parade but said “these are people that hate our country.”

“For those people who want to protest, they’re going to be met with very big force,” Trump said.

“I haven’t even heard about a protest, but, you know, this is people that hate our country,” he said.

A military parade has been a long-held goal of Trump’s, dating back to his first administration. The event has been criticized by Democrats and others for the cost, estimated up to $45 million, and possible damage to the city’s roads.

2024 Election Results Under Scrutiny as Lawsuit Advances

A legal case questioning the accuracy of the 2024 election is moving forward.

The lawsuit, brought by SMART Legislation, the action arm of SMART Elections, a nonpartisan watchdog group, filed the lawsuit over voting discrepancies in Rockland County, New York.

Judge Rachel Tanguay of the New York Supreme Court ruled in open court in May that the allegations were serious enough for discovery to proceed.

Newsweek has contacted SMART Elections for comment via email.

Why It Matters

The lawsuit could renew debate about the 2024 election, though it won't change the outcome since Congress has certified the results declaring President Donald Trump the winner.

It comes amid unconfirmed reports that voting machines were secretly altered before ballots were cast in November's election. The federally accredited testing lab, Pro V&V, that signed off on "significant" changes to ES&S voting machines—which are used in over 40 percent of U.S. counties—"vanished from public view" after the election, according to the Dissent in Bloom Substack.

What to know about Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops to LA immigration protests

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Marines and additional National Guard troops were headed to Los Angeles on President Donald Trump’s orders in response to protests over immigration raids.

The authorization came amid mostly peaceful protests in the city on Monday.

California officials sued Trump on Monday to roll back the administration’s National Guard deployment, saying the president trampled over the state’s sovereignty. Local officials and Gov. Gavin Newsom don’t want the military presence and the police chief has said it creates logistical challenges for safely handling protests.

The 2,000 Guard members authorized Monday are an addition to the 2,100 Guard troops the president previously mobilized for the protests Sunday morning. Trump also deployed 700 Marines to help them Monday.

Trump, a Republican, said in a post on his social media site that the city would have been “completely obliterated” if he had not sent Guard members.

This appears to be the first time in decades that a state’s National Guard was activated without a request from its governor.

Here are some things to know about the lawsuit, the protests and the guard’s deployment:

David Hogg Reacts After DNC Vote to Redo Vice Chair Election

David Hogg said Wednesday night that he will not run in the redo vote after the Democratic National Committee (DNC) voted to nullify the February 2025 elections that appointed Hogg and Pennsylvania state representative Malcolm Kenyatta as vice chairs, citing procedural violations.

Hogg posted on X, formerly Twitter, "It is clear that there is a fundamental disagreement about the role of a Vice Chair — and it's okay to have disagreements. What isn't okay is allowing this to remain our focus when there is so much more we need to be focused on. Ultimately, I have decided to not run in this upcoming election so the party can focus on what really matters."

Why It Matters
This decision follows a complaint by former candidate Kalyn Free, who alleged that the election process did not adhere to the party's rules. The DNC's electronic vote, conducted from June 9 to June 11, approved the motion to redo the elections.

What To Know
Kenyatta is now the only candidate for the male vice chair slot. The three women, including Free, who lost to Hogg in February will compete for the second slot.

Newsweek has reached out to both Hogg and Kenyatta via email on Wednesday evening for comment.

Hogg, a prominent Gen Z activist and co-founder of the political group Leaders We Deserve, has been a contentious figure within the DNC due to his initiative to invest $20 million in supporting progressive challengers against incumbent Democrats. This move has sparked internal debates about party neutrality and leadership roles.

DNC Chair Ken Martin has emphasized the importance of neutrality among party officers and has proposed bylaw changes to enforce this principle

4chan under investigation by British government for alleged "online safety" violations
1735960181015380
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ckgqwlvq180o
The online message board 4chan is being investigated by the UK communications regulator over failure to comply with recently introduced online safety rules.

Ofcom says it has received complaints over potential illegal content on the website, which has not responded to its requests for information.

Under the Online Safety Act, online services must assess the risk of UK users encountering illegal content and activity on their platforms, and take steps to protect them from it.

Ofcom is also investigating porn provider First Time Videos over its age verification checks, and seven file sharing services over potential child sexual abuse material.

4chan has been contacted for comment.

Ofcom says it requested 4chan's risk assessment in April but has not had any response.

The regulator will now investigate whether the platform "has failed, or is failing, to comply with its duties to protect its users from illegal content".

It would not say what kind of illegal content it is investigating.

Ofcom has the power to fine companies up to 10% of their global revenues, or £18m - whichever is the greater number.

4chan has often been at the heart of online controversies in its 22 years, including misogynistic campaigns and conspiracy theories.

Users are anonymous, which can often lead to extreme content being posted.

It was the subject of an alleged hack earlier this year, which took parts of the website down for over a week.

Seven file sharing services also failed to respond to requests for information from the regulator.

They are Im.ge, Krakenfiles, Nippybox, Nippydrive, Nippyshare, Nippyspace and Yolobit.

Ofcom also says it has received complaints over potential child sexual abuse material being shared on these platforms.

Separately, porn provider First Time Videos, which runs two websites, is being investigated into whether it has adequate age checks in place to stop under-18s accessing its sites.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Calley Means has built a following within the “Make America Healthy Again” movement by railing against the failings of the U.S. health system, often pinning the blame on one issue: corruption.

Means, a top aide to Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., was hired as a White House adviser in March. He has used that perch to attack the nation’s leading physician groups, federal agencies and government scientists, claiming they only protect their own interests in the nation’s $4.9 trillion-a-year industry.

In recent interviews, speeches and podcasts he has called the American Medical Association “a pharma lobbying group,” labeled the Food and Drug Administration “a sock puppet of industry,” and said federal health scientists have “overseen a record of utter failure.”

Means, however, has his own financial stake in the sprawling health system. He’s the co-founder of an online platform, Truemed, that offers dietary supplements, herbal remedies and other wellness products. Some of the vendors featured on Truemed’s website are supporters of Kennedy’s MAHA movement, which downplays the benefits of prescription drugs, vaccines and other rigorously tested medical products.

Kennedy has pledged to run the Department of Health and Human Services with “radical transparency,” but Means has never had to publicly disclose his own financial details or where exactly they intersect with the policies he’s advancing.

“It reeks of hypocrisy,” said Dr. Reshma Ramachandran, a health researcher at Yale University. “In effect, he is representing another industry that is touting nonregulated products and using his platform within the government to financially benefit himself.”

BlackRock Is Accused of a Plot Against Coal. The Firm Says That’s ‘Absurd.’
Paxton
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/09/climate/blackrock-coal-texas-lawsuit.html

Did some of the biggest investors in the world buy up shares in coal companies to force them to produce less coal?

An unusual lawsuit in Texas claims that investment firms including BlackRock, Vanguard and State Street did just that, illegally colluding with one another to reduce coal production as part of a conspiracy to fight climate change.

In a federal court in Texas on Monday, a lawyer for BlackRock told a judge that the claims “defy economic reality” and that the lawsuit should be dismissed. “The complaint ignores that the coal market has been declining for decades for a host of reasons well before this alleged conspiracy,” said Gregg Costa, a lawyer with the firm Gibson Dunn, speaking on behalf of all three defendants.

A lawyer for Texas, which filed the suit late last year along with 10 other states, said BlackRock’s chief executive, Laurence D. Fink, has written in the past that corporations should set targets for greenhouse-gas reductions. For coal companies, that means “reducing output,” said the lawyer, Brian Barnes of the firm Cooper & Kirk.

Elon Musk wants to be Trump's friend again, after calling him an ungrateful child rapist
1723431277631628
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/06/09/musk-trump-bromance-back-x-posts/84119707007/
In the aftermath of a public standoff last week with the president, the richest man in the world is trying to reposition himself and work his way back into Donald Trump's good graces.

Billionaire Elon Musk, in a series of re-shares and posts on X over the weekend, expressed support for Trump's actions supporting ICE raids in Los Angeles and the president's attempts to squelch protests by deploying the National Guard. That was in stark contrast to his vocal online criticism of the president that went from professional to personal in a matter of days.

Not long after the president's laudatory Oval Office send-off for Musk on May 30, the first buddy-turned-nemesis dueled with his former boss in a spectacular public spat on social media. Musk criticized the president’s so-called “Big, Beautiful Bill,” a tax and policy package making its way through Congress, calling it a "disgusting abomination” that would burden Americans with "crushing debt" and agreeing with a post that called for Trump's impeachment.

Then Musk went nuclear.

"Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files," he wrote on X on June 5 to his more than 220 million followers. "That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!"

That Trump had crossed paths with Jeffrey Epstein, a disgraced financier who died while in jail awaiting prosecution on sex trafficking charges, has been public knowledge for years. In 2019, Trump said he’d had a “falling out” with Epstein, whom he described as a “Palm Beach fixture,” in the mid-2000s.

Now, two days after he’d dropped the bomb, the mercurial billionaire appears to be rethinking those allegations.

In less than 48 hours, Musk deleted the Epstein post on X.

Then, over the weekend, Musk’s reshared post calling for Trump's impeachment disappeared.

Trump Tariffs are working, increasing propserity

Winning is back on the menu, thanks Trump!

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/countries-benefit-from-trump-s-tariffs-and-it-s-not-the-u-s/ar-AA1Gjg80

When President Donald Trump announced a new round of sweeping tariffs on April 2, many anticipated a global spike in inflation. However, nearly a month later, the markets are showing the opposite effect, and some countries, especially in Europe, could end up reaping more benefits than the United States.

The tariffs imposed by the U.S., far from protecting the national economy or boosting domestic prices, are generating a global surplus of goods, particularly from China. With decreased demand from the U.S. market, these products are seeking new destinations, and Europe is emerging as a key recipient.

The result: downward pressure on prices that benefits European consumers while leaving the U.S. facing more complex macroeconomic risks.

And the European Central Bank (ECB) responded swiftly. In early May, its Governing Council cut the deposit rate by 25 basis points to 2.25%. A more aggressive 50-point cut was even discussed, according to ECB President Christine Lagarde.

This shift signals a new focus. The ECB is no longer trying to fight inflation, but to stave off an economic slowdown. Lagarde made it clear: “Tariffs are probably more disinflationary than inflationary”. With that in mind, the ECB is already expected to revise its growth outlook downward in its next meeting in June.

Mexico winning the Immigration War

Under Trump, the Government is paying farmers to grow crops that they can't harvest so they get plowed over so Americans can pay tarriffs + increased prices for Mexicos leftover crops
Shills will pretend this is 'winning'

https://www.yahoo.com/news/florida-farmers-now-plowing-over-130000347.html

Tony DiMare’s family owns 4,000 acres of tomato farms across Florida and California. Sadly, his Florida crops are not looking good — mowed over and left to rot, like tomato vines across the state.

But it’s not growing conditions that are the problem. It’s economic ones.

Deportations devastate farm workforce

About 50% of farm workers in the U.S. are undocumented migrants — including skilled supervisors and machine operators — according to Farmonaut, a farm technology company.

As the Trump administration proceeds with mass deportations of undocumented migrants, there are far fewer pickers in the fields, and crops are left to go bad.

One spoke to WSVN about fellow migrants leaving Florida each day. He spoke on condition of anonymity, concerned he might be deported himself

"A lot of people are really afraid, and sometimes they come, sometimes they don’t come,” he said. “And the harvest is lost because it cannot be harvested.”

The labor shortage also means Florida farmers have to pay more for labor. At the same time, they’re getting less money for their produce due to Trump’s tariff policies.
Tariffs upset traditional supply chain

From January through April, Trump’s threatened tariffs triggered Mexican suppliers to double or even triple tomato exports to the U.S. — before tariffs went into effect.

The result? The U.S. market was flooded with Mexican tomatoes. Florida farmers saw the wholesale price of a box of tomatoes plummet from $16 per box to $3 or $4. DiMare said tomato farmers need around $10 or $11 per box to break even.

US Government declares everyone in Los Angeles is a CRIMINAL: "They're a city of criminals"
1730656750180362
https://www.mediaite.com/media/tv/dhs-secretary-noem-on-los-angeles-theyre-a-city-of-criminals/
Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem deemed Los Angeles “a city of criminals” as protests continued on Monday night.

The latest demonstrations began when agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement carried out raids in the city’s garment district, seeking to arrest undocumented immigrants working in the area. ICE agents also conducted a sweep outside a Los Angeles Home Depot, looking to snatch up migrant laborers.

In response to the protests, President Donald Trump has federalized 4,000 National Guard soldiers and deployed 700 Marines to the Los Angeles area. California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass have criticized the move, over which state Attorney General Rob Bonta has sued the Trump administration. The last time a president federalized a state National Guard over the objections of its governor was 1965, when Lyndon Johnson invoked the Insurrection Act to protect Civil Rights marchers in Alabama.

TACO - The protesters are going to win

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/06/08/trump-invasion-border-crossings-wartime-powers/83730925007/

SUNLAND PARK, New Mexico ‒ The U.S.-Mexico border used to buzz with illegal migration at a scale President Donald Trump called an "invasion."

Now soldiers surveil the desert from military vehicles, Border Patrol radios are silent and illegal crossings have fallen to record lows.

Reaching far beyond the border, deep into the country's heartland, Trump insists America is under "invasion" and has continued to invoke wartime powers to stop it. He has transformed the borderland into a military base, made arrests by masked agents a common sight in America and packed detention centers with immigrants, the vast majority without criminal records. He's now trying to take control of the California National Guard to crack down on immigrants and the protesters trying to defend them.

Trump's aggressive actions – and protestors' increasingly violent opposition – have touched off a furious national debate about civil rights, the rule of law and what the word "invasion" really means.

Trump is known for his verbal flourishes, but declaring an "invasion" in numerous executive actions is one way to unlock extraordinary federal authorities, often reserved for wartime, said Jessica Vaughan, of the right-leaning Center for Immigration Studies.

"It was not just meant to rile people up, or to just be used as a melodramatic description, but it was meant to trigger a certain response under certain authorities," she said.

The word "invasion" appears in at least 12 of Trump's executive orders, proclamations and memoranda since he took office Jan. 20, according to a USA TODAY review. He has ramped up military rhetoric in official orders, even as his administration touts its success in stopping border crossings.

Mass Looting Breaks Out as LA Riots Intensify
https://www.newsweek.com/mass-looting-breaks-out-la-riots-intensify-2082622

Los Angeles police have said they are receiving reports of looting from business owners as videos emerged on social media showing a mass of people running into stores whose frontages had been broken open.

"Business owners are reporting stores are being looted in the area of 6th St. and Broadway," Los Angeles Police Department's (LAPD) Central Division posted to X. "Officers are en route to the location to investigate." The area referred to is in Downtown L.A.

Police urged all businesses and residents "to report any vandalism, damage or looting to LAPD Central Division so that it can be documented by an official police report. Please photograph all vandalism and damage prior to clean up."

Why It Matters
Over the weekend, protests in Los Angeles against immigration enforcement escalated in some areas, with isolated incidents of violence and looting. In response, President Donald Trump announced the deployment of 2,000 National Guard troops to restore order, without California Governor Gavin Newsom's consent.

Immigration remains a central pillar of Trump's second-term agenda. The president has pledged sweeping crackdowns on border security, expanded deportation operations, and an end to federal benefits for undocumented immigrants.

In addition, the administration is invoking the wartime Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to broaden deportation authority—a move that has triggered fierce backlash and mounting legal challenges.

The demonstrations mark the most intense wave of public opposition to federal immigration enforcement since Trump returned to office in January.

YouTuber BillyJohnOh captured the chaotic looting of a Jordan sneaker store during a livestream. In another video posted online separately, looters can be seen raiding a gas station's convenience store.

Trump quells insurrection in LA
Trump orders National Guard to LA after clashes

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c4gkyggekgyo

US President Donald Trump has ordered 2,000 National Guardsmen to Los Angeles to deal with unrest over raids on undocumented migrants.

Trump said the federal government would "step in and solve the problem", after the Californian city saw a second day of clashes between protesters and federal agents.

Tear gas was used to disperse crowds as residents of the predominantly Latino Paramount district clashed with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents earlier in the day.

As many as 118 arrests were made in LA this week as a result of ICE operations, including 44 on Friday. California Governor Gavin Newsom has condemned the raids as "cruel".

Trump thanked the National Guard for a "job well done" in Los Angeles late on Saturday night. Despite this, the troops did not appear to have arrived in the city.

Early on Sunday the New York Times website quoted a federal official as saying that the force would arrive within 24 hours.

Trump criticised the city's Democratic governor and mayor in a post on his Truth Social platform, calling them "incompetent". He also said protesters would no longer be allowed to wear masks.

ABC News suspends journalist after calling Trump and adviser ‘world-class’ haters

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jun/08/abc-news-suspends-journalist-stephen-miller-trump

ABC News has suspended its senior national correspondent after he described top White House aide Stephen Miller as “richly endowed with the capacity for hatred” on social media.

In a now deleted post, Terry Moran, who recently conducted an interview with Donald Trump, said that the president and his deputy chief of staff, Miller, were both “world-class” haters.

An ABC News spokesperson said that Moran “has been suspended pending further evaluation”, adding: “ABC News stands for objectivity and impartiality in its news coverage and does not condone subjective personal attacks on others. The post does not reflect the views of ABC News and violated our standards.”

According to a screenshot of the post, Moran said that Miller was not the brains behind Trumpism and his ability to translate the movement’s “impulses” into policy was “not brains. It’s bile.”

“You can see that his hatreds are his spiritual nourishment,” Moran added. “He eats his hate.”

He added of Trump: “Trump is a world-class hater. But his hatred only a means to an end, and that end [is] his own glorification.”

Miller shot back, saying: “The most important fact about Terry’s full public meltdown is what it shows about the corporate press in America. For decades, the privileged anchors and reporters narrating and gatekeeping our society have been radicals adopting a journalist’s pose. Terry pulled off his mask.”

Florida farmers now plowing over perfectly good tomatoes as Trump’s tariff policies cause prices to plummet

But it’s not growing conditions that are the problem. It’s economic ones.

DiMare told WSVN 7 Miami that President Donald Trump’s tariff and immigration policies are driving farmers to abandon their crops.

In January, he warned that Trump’s crackdown on migrants would squeeze farmers, who rely on migrants to pick produce.

“We have to secure our borders south and north, but you have to have a workforce in this country,” he told the Financial Post.

About 50% of farm workers in the U.S. are undocumented migrants — including skilled supervisors and machine operators — according to Farmonaut, a farm technology company.

Buyer With Ties to Chinese Communist Party Got V.I.P. Treatment at Trump Crypto Dinner
1749326999905290
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/06/us/politics/trump-crypto-dinner-china-he-tianying.html

The Trump White House has repeatedly sounded an alarm about visitors with ties to China’s Communist Party coming to the United States, arguing that they are a potential security threat.

But the administration appears to have literally left the door open to a member of a Chinese government group when it went along with a plan to give the biggest purchasers of President Trump’s digital currency access to the president and the White House.

Mr. Trump launched a so-called memecoin, a type of cryptocurrency, just days before his inauguration. To bolster sales, the president’s business partners created a contest in April, offering the coin’s top buyers a tour of the White House and a private dinner with Mr. Trump at his Virginia golf club.

One of those buyers was He Tianying, who is a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, according to government documents in China examined by The New York Times.

That government group, referred to as the C.P.P.C.C., is an advisory body that seeks to broaden the Communist Party’s influence and solicit support from influential people in Chinese society.

Trump flexes emergency powers in his second term
TrumpEmergencyPowers
https://apnews.com/article/trump-emergency-powers-tariffs-immigration-5cbe386d8f2cc4a374a5d005e618d76a
WASHINGTON (AP) — Call it the 911 presidency.

Despite insisting that the United States is rebounding from calamity under his watch, President Donald Trump is harnessing emergency powers unlike any of his predecessors.

Whether it’s leveling punishing tariffs, deploying troops to the border or sidelining environmental regulations, Trump has relied on rules and laws intended only for use in extraordinary circumstances like war and invasion.

The result is a redefinition of how presidents can wield power. Instead of responding to an unforeseen crisis, Trump is using emergency powers to supplant Congress’ authority and advance his agenda.

“What’s notable about Trump is the enormous scale and extent, which is greater than under any modern president,” said Ilya Somin, who is representing five U.S. businesses who sued the administration, claiming they were harmed by Trump’s so-called “Liberation Day” tariffs.

Because Congress has the power to set trade policy under the Constitution, the businesses convinced a federal trade court that Trump overstepped his authority by claiming an economic emergency to impose the tariffs. An appeals court has paused that ruling while the judges review it.

An analysis by The Associated Press shows that 30 of Trump’s 150 executive orders have cited some kind of emergency power or authority, a rate that far outpaces his recent predecessors.

Mistakenly deported Salvadoran native Kilmar Abrego Garcia has been brought back to the United States where he will face criminal charges for allegedly transporting undocumented migrants within the U.S.

More than two months after the Trump administration admitted it mistakenly deported Abrego Garcia from Maryland to his native El Salvador, a federal grand jury has indicted him for allegedly transporting undocumented migrants within the United States.

A two-count indictment, which was filed under seal in federal court in Tennessee last month and unsealed Friday, alleges Abrego Garcia, 29, participated in a yearslong conspiracy to haul undocumented migrants from Texas to the interior of the country.

The alleged conspiracy spanned nearly a decade and involved the domestic transport of thousands of noncitizens from Mexico and Central America, including some children, in exchange for thousands of dollars, according to the indictment.

Abrego-Garcia is alleged to have participated in more than 100 such trips, according to the indictment. Among those allegedly transported were members of the Salvadoran gang MS-13, sources familiar with the investigation said.

Abrego-Garcia is the only member of the alleged conspiracy charged in the indictment.

Trump EO makes it legal to interfere with US elections
1749203283783740
https://www.politico.com/news/2025/06/06/trump-cyber-executive-order-hacker-sanctions-00393241

The Trump administration announced Friday it is amending “problematic elements” of two landmark cybersecurity executive orders — though the extent of the changes in many cases appears modest.

The modifications are part of a new executive order signed Friday by President Donald Trump. The full text of the EO was released Friday afternoon, and the Trump administration first outlined details of the order in a White House fact sheet.

The fact sheet says the new order takes aim at two previous EOs focused on cybersecurity — one signed by former President Joe Biden in January just before leaving office, and one by former President Barack Obama in 2015.

The order outlines a potentially weighty change: the new EO would change the Obama-era order — which allows for sanctions on individuals behind cyberattacks on U.S. critical infrastructure — by limiting it “only to foreign malicious actors” and clarifying “that sanctions do not apply to election-related activities.”

While the fact sheet on the EO points to limiting sanctions against those interfering in U.S. elections, the text does not mention this, clarifying that only “foreign persons” can be targeted by sanctions for attacking critical infrastructure.

It is unclear if foreign hackers engaging in efforts to undermine U.S. elections, such as Russia, could therefore be exempt from possible U.S. sanctions.

The grieving parents of a 7-year-old child who died hours after being hit by a car were charged with involuntary manslaughter after allowing him and his brother, 10, to walk home unaccompanied by an adult from a nearby grocery store.

Jessica Ivey and Samuele Jenkins were charged two days after their son Legend died from injuries caused by being struck by a Jeep on May 27 in Gastonia, a rural town in North Carolina. The 76-year-old driver will not face any charges.

The Food Lion store is two blocks away from their home. The parents said the children were with their mother when they asked to meet their father at the store, and she allowed them to leave, according to The Gaston Gazette. The brothers had to cross the busy, four-lane road, but attempted to go between crosswalks.

Musk floats idea of third party amid feud with Trump

Billionaire Elon Musk seemed to suggest support of a third political party as he escalated a growing fight with President Trump that boiled over Thursday.

“Is it time to create a new political party in America that actually represents the 80% in the middle,” Musk wrote in a post on social platform X to his more than 200 million followers on the site, which he owns.

Musk attached a survey to his post that allowed users to vote “yes” or “no” on the idea of a third political party.

The post came hours after Trump expressed “disappointment” with Musk over the billionaire’s criticism of the “big, beautiful bill” the president is trying to push through Congress.

Musk has argued the bill is too large and contains too much wasteful spending, what he called “pork” in an earlier post on X.

After Trump pushed back on Musk’s opposition to the bill on Thursday, the billionaire wrote on X that the president would have lost last fall’s presidential election without him and called him “ungrateful.”

Musk, the richest person on earth, donated millions to Trump’s 2024 campaign, promoted his ideas on X and spoke for him at rallies around the country.

Trump rewarded Musk with unprecedented access to his White House and government, appointing him to lead a new Department of Government Efficiency, a job he left last week before the public falling out.

"Trump is in the Epstein Files", Elon Musk claims
1744128595923489
https://www.newsweek.com/elon-musk-says-donald-trump-epstein-files-2081653
Elon Musk has dropped what he referred to as "the really big bomb" in his rapidly escalating feud with President Donald Trump.

As the former allies sling mud at each other in the public arena, Musk has made the allegation that Trump "is in the Epstein files."

"That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!" he added in a post on X.

The increasingly personal feud escalated earlier in the week after Musk, who contributed more than $200 million to Trump's presidential campaign, publicly criticized the administration-backed "One Big Beautiful Bill." The proposed legislation aims to extend tax cuts, overhaul immigration enforcement, and repeal consumer incentives for electric vehicles.

Musk condemned the bill as a "disgusting abomination," arguing that it would add trillions to the federal debt.

Trump posted Thursday afternoon that "the easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon's Governmental Subsidies and Contracts." In a follow-up, he said he took away Musk's electric vehicle mandate and claimed, "he just went CRAZY!"

The Epstein files refer to a collection of documents, including court records and flight logs connected to Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender who died in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

There is no evidence that Trump is among the files.

Epstein was known to entertain famous people on his island, Little St. James, in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

He took his own life at the age of 66 in a jail cell at New York City's Metropolitan Correctional Center in August 2019, before he could stand trial in Manhattan on sex-trafficking charges where he was accused of preying on underage girls as young as 14. Authorities determined he hanged himself. He always denied any wrongdoing.

Consultant behind AI-generated robocalls mimicking Biden goes on trial in New Hampshire

A political consultant who sent voters artificial intelligence-generated robocalls mimicking former President Joe Biden last year goes on trial Thursday in New Hampshire, where jurors may be asked to consider not just his guilt or innocence but whether the state actually held its first-in-the-nation presidential primary.

Steven Kramer, who faces decades in prison if convicted of voter suppression and impersonating a candidate, has admitted orchestrating a message sent to thousands of voters two days before the Jan. 23, 2024, primary. The message played an AI-generated voice similar to the Democratic president’s that used his phrase “What a bunch of malarkey” and suggested that voting in the primary would preclude voters from casting ballots in November.

“It’s important that you save your vote for the November election,” voters were told. “Your votes make a difference in November, not this Tuesday.”

Kramer, who owns a firm specializing in get-out-the-vote projects, has said he wasn’t trying to influence the outcome of the primary election but rather wanted to send a wake-up call about the potential dangers of AI when he paid a New Orleans magician and self-described “digital nomad” $150 to create the recording.

Republicans Try to Discredit Experts Warning About the Cost of Tax Cuts
1749066355895954
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/04/us/politics/trump-budget-bill-republicans-tax-cuts.html

Even before House Republicans learned the full price of their tax package on Wednesday, one of the bill’s chief authors, Representative Jason Smith of Missouri, was sowing doubt about the accuracy of the estimate.

“I’m skeptical,” Mr. Smith quipped at an event last month when asked about the coming analysis of the legislation’s cost. “Unless I like the number, I’m against the number.”

In the bitter war over the nation’s fiscal future, President Trump and his Republican allies have united around a new foe: the economists and budget experts who have warned about the costs of the party’s tax ambitions. Republican leaders have set about trying to discredit any hint of unfavorable accounting on their signature legislation as they race to enact it before the president’s self-imposed July 4 deadline.

The latest estimate arrived on Wednesday, projecting that the sprawling bill endorsed by Mr. Trump could add about $2.4 trillion to the federal debt over the next decade.

By then, though, the package of tax, spending and welfare cuts had already ignited an intense wave of political attacks and recriminations. While Republicans scrambled to cast their proposal as fiscally responsible, Wall Street was getting the jitters about the nation’s growing debt burden. The tech executive Elon Musk, having left behind his role seeking to slash government spending for Mr. Trump, savaged the bill again on social media on Wednesday, calling for new legislation to be drafted that “doesn’t massively grow the deficit.”

Trump Appoints 22-Year-Old Ex-Gardener and Grocery Store Assistant to Lead U.S. Terror Prevention

https://www.thedailybeast.com/donald-trump-appoints-22-y-o-ex-gardener-grocery-store-assistant-as-us-homeland-department-terrorist-chief/

The inexperienced 22-year-old reportedly tasked by Donald Trump with tackling U.S. extremism was working as a neighborhood gardener just five years ago and in a grocery store as recently as August 2023, the Daily Beast can reveal.

Thomas Fugate, who graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio just 12 months ago, is currently heading up the Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships at the DHS, as first reported by ProPublica Tuesday.

The center, also known as CP3, plays a vital role supporting nationwide efforts to combat terrorism and hate-fueled violence.

But according to the youngster’s LinkedIn page, Fugate has almost no experience in this field—and in 2020 was working as a self-employed ‘Landscape Business Owner.’

US Tariffs: $2.5tn deficit reduction
America circa 2026
Tariffs will reduce deficits by $2.5 trillion over 10 years: CBO

Tariffs will reduce deficits by $2.5 trillion over 10 years: CBO

President Trump’s tariffs will take a major bite out of U.S. deficit levels, reducing them by $2.5 trillion over the next decade and shrinking the size of the U.S. economy, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) found in a Wednesday analysis.

The deficit reduction is almost exactly the same size as the deficit addition that would result from the GOP’s “big, beautiful bill.” The CBO found that the bill would add $2.4 trillion to deficits through 2034, according to a separate analysis released Wednesday.

The tariffs measured by the CBO are those implemented from Jan. 6 to May 13, which includes the trade truce with China announced May 12.

The CBO included in its calculation a menu of tariffs that Trump has announced since taking office: a 30 percent tariff on imports from China and Hong Kong; 25 percent tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico that started March 7; 25 percent tariffs on steel and aluminum from March 12; 25 percent tariffs on most automobile imports starting April 3; 10 percent tariff on imports from most countries that began April 5; and 25 percent tariff on imports of most auto parts, as of May 3.

Trump has said since the start of his term that he would implement tariffs to balance trade with other countries and to try to spur a manufacturing boom in the U.S. He has routinely announced tariffs, then paused them in an effort to strike a trade deal with a particular nation. But several tariffs have stuck and the overall tariff rate is now between 10 percent and 15 percent, the highest level in decades.

The boosted projections for federal revenue will likely raise long-term economic confidence, especially since the bond market has been quaking in recent weeks. Bond yields have popped in response to tariffs and legislation.

Disease-infested meat found at all Whole Foods stores

https://apnews.com/article/whole-foods-ground-beef-e-coli-alert-7d6613b15fd0676b1fbb4b3a0f428cc4
U.S. agriculture officials are warning that ground beef sold at Whole Foods markets nationwide may be contaminated with potentially dangerous E. coli bacteria.

Officials on Tuesday issued a public health alert for 1-pound, vacuum-packed packages of Organic Rancher beef, produced on May 22 and May 23, by NPC Processing Inc., of Shelburne, Vermont. The products have use-by dates of June 19 and June 20.

The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service did not request a recall because the products are no longer available for purchase. However, they may still be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers.

The meat was produced in Australia or Uruguay and processed in the U.S. It was sent to distributors in Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois and Maryland and then to Whole Foods stores nationwide. The problem was discovered when company officials notified FSIS that they had shipped beef products that tested positive for E. coli O157:H7, a type of bacteria that can cause serious illness.

To date, no illnesses linked to the product have been reported, officials said. Consumers who have the product should throw it away or return it to the store.

E. coli bacteria can cause infections with symptoms that include dehydration, diarrhea and cramps. Most people recover within a week, but some people can become severely ill and develop a dangerous kidney condition. Children under age 5 and older adults are most at risk.

Trump says he's "very disappointed" in Elon Musk. Musk calls Trump ungrateful
1718548724258705
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5yg98rl717o
US President Donald Trump says he was "very surprised" and "disappointed" with former ally Elon Musk's criticisms of his centrepiece budget bill.

"Elon and I had a great relationship. I don't know if we will anymore," Trump told reporters in the White House on Thursday.

It was the president's most direct criticism yet of Musk's lobbying efforts against the proposals to cut taxes and slash government spending - a plan that has drawn criticism from Musk and some Republicans.

In response, Musk doubled down on X and accused the president of "Such ingratitude", adding: "Without me, Trump would have lost the election".

Musk left his post at the Department of Government Efficiency last week after 129 days on the job, and Trump presented him with a with a golden key during a congratulatory news conference on 30 May.

But in the days since, he has repeatedly criticised Trump's budget bill currently working its way through Congress, calling it a "disgusting abomination" and posting "Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong."

The bill passed the House with the backing of most Republicans, with a handful of representatives from Trump's party and all Democrats opposed.

Speaking to reporters during a news conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Thursday, Trump said: "We are doing things in that bill that are unbelievable.

"I'm very disappointed because Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anybody sitting here," he said. "All of a sudden he had a problem."

"He hasn't said bad about my personally, but I'm sure that will be next."

Put in charge of radically slashing government spending, Musk initiated mass sackings and wholesale elimination of departments such as the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

Doge claims to have saved $180bn, although that number has been disputed, and is well short of Musk's initial aim to cut spending by up to $2 trillion.

UK to provide Ukraine with 100,000 drones by April 2026
2025-06-04_17-33
Sauce: https://kyivindependent.com/uk-to-provide-ukraine-with-100-000-drones-by-april-2026/

The United Kingdom pledged on June 4 to supply Ukraine with 100,000 drones by the end of the financial year in April 2026, after saying that unmanned aerial vehicles have changed the way modern wars are fought.

The drone package – valued at £350 million ($473 million) – is part of a broader £4.5 billion military support initiative for Ukraine and marks a tenfold increase from a target of 10,000 in 2024 to 100,000 in 2025, the U.K. government said.

"The UK is stepping up its support for Ukraine by delivering hundreds of thousands more drones this year and completing a major milestone in the delivery of critical artillery ammunition," Defense Secretary John Healey said in a statement.

The increase in drone support is timely, as it follows Ukraine's successful Operation Spiderweb on June 1. As part of the operation, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) smuggled 117 drones into Russian territory, striking four airbases and damaging 41 military aircraft.

In addition to drone deliveries, the U.K. government confirmed the delivery of 140,000 artillery shells to Ukraine since January and will spend an additional £247 million ($334 million) this year to train Ukrainian troops.

"We are learning lessons every day from the battlefield in Ukraine, which British companies are using to develop advanced new drones to help protect Ukraine’s civilians and also strengthen our own national security," Healey said.

On June 2, the U.K. government endorsed an independent Strategic Defense Review that called for a more technologically advanced military to counter emerging threats, including potential Russian aggression. Citing the war in Ukraine, the review emphasized the importance of drones and digital warfare.

Federal immigration officials have faced severe criticism from members of the Trump administration, displeased with the number of immigration arrests and deportations, according to the Washington Examiner.

Late last month, a heated discussion arose between White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller and several senior officials from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Trust between the parties is in a downward spiral as top staffers believe the administration is closely watching them regarding how they’re conducting their detentions of unlawful immigrants. Three current and former immigration officials spoke to the Examiner.

“They’ve been threatened, told they’re watching their emails and texts and Signals,” one anonymous official said. “That’s what is horrible about things right now. It’s a fearful environment. Everybody in leadership is afraid. … There’s no morale. Everybody is demoralized.”

The top 50 officials at ICE were informed about an emergency meeting in the nation’s capital a week in advance. The agency confirmed to the Examiner that ICE’s 25 field office directors of Enforcement Removal Operations (ERO) and the 25 special agents in charge of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) arrived in Washington for the meeting on Tuesday, May 20, when Miller scolded them.

Elon Musk: Trump's agenda is a "disgusting abomination"

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c0j76djzgpvo
Elon Musk has hit out at President Donald Trump's signature tax and spending bill, describing it as a "disgusting abomination", in a widening rift between the two.

The tech billionaire posted on X that the bill would add to the US budget deficit and saddle Americans with "crushing" debt.

The budget, which includes huge tax breaks and more defence spending, was passed by the House of Representatives last month and is now being considered by senators.

"Shame on those who voted for it," said Musk, hinting that he may try to unseat the politicians responsible at next year's midterm elections.

The bill has the backing of President Donald Trump and would be the legislative linchpin of his second-term agenda if it passes Congress.

Musk left the administration abruptly last week after 129 days working to cut costs with his team, known as Doge.

The comments mark his first public disagreement with Trump since leaving government, after having previously called the plan "disappointing".

The South African-born tech billionaire's time in the Trump administration came to an end on 31 May, although Trump said that "he will, always, be with us, helping all the way".

In its current form, the bill - which Trump refers to as the "big beautiful bill" - has been estimated to increase the budget deficit - the difference between what the government spends and the revenue it receives - by about $600bn (£444bn) in the next fiscal year.

In a series of posts on X on Tuesday, Musk said that the "outrageous, pork-filled" spending bill will "massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion (!!!) and burden America [sic] citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt".

In American politics "pork" refers to spending on projects in lawmakers' constituencies.

FDA’s AI tool for medical devices struggles with simple tasks
https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/fdas-ai-tool-medical-devices-struggles-simple-tasks-rcna210340

A new Food and Drug Administration AI tool that could speed up reviews and approvals of medical devices such as pacemakers and insulin pumps is struggling with simple tasks, according to two people familiar with it.

The tool — which is still in beta testing — is buggy, doesn’t yet connect to the FDA’s internal systems and has issues when it comes to uploading documents or allowing users to submit questions, the people say. It’s also not currently connected to the internet and can’t access new content, such as recently publishedstudiesor anything behind a paywall.

The artificial intelligence, dubbed internally CDRH-GPT, is intended to help staffers at the agency’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health, a division responsible for ensuring the safety of devices implanted in the body as well as essential tools like X-rays and CT scanners.

The division was among those affected by the sweeping mass layoffs at the Department for Health and Human Services earlier this year. While many of the device reviewers were spared, the agency eliminated much of the backend support that enables them to issue approval decisions on time.

Trump calls for scrapping debt limit

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5332843-trump-calls-for-scrapping-debt-limit/

President Trump doubled down Wednesday on calls to scrap the nation’s debt ceiling, pressing for bipartisan action to abolish it and finding common ground with Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.).

“I am very pleased to announce that, after all of these years, I agree with Senator Elizabeth Warren on SOMETHING. The Debt Limit should be entirely scrapped to prevent an Economic catastrophe. It is too devastating to be put in the hands of political people that may want to use it despite the horrendous effect it could have on our Country and, indirectly, even the World. As to Senator Warren’s second statement on the $4 Trillion Dollars, I like that also, but it would have to be done over a period of time, as short as possible. Let’s get together, Republican and Democrat, and DO THIS!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

He shared Warren’s post on the social platform X from Friday, when she agreed with Trump that the debt limit “should be scrapped” and called for a bipartisan bill to “get rid of it forever.”

Warren had posted Trump’s comments in which he noted the progressive senator has long supported abolishing the debt limit in the past. He said he “always agreed with her” on the matter, adding that he hasn’t spoken to her personally about it.

“She wanted to see it terminated, gotten rid of, not being voted on every five years or 10 years, and the reason was because it’s so catastrophic for our country,” Trump said at a Friday press conference, alongside Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

Man arrested in EU state for providing Russian TV access

Latvian police have arrested a man accused of providing access to banned Russian television channels to more than 400 households across the country, according to local media reports.

The 42-year-old technician is reportedly suspected of setting up a system that bypassed content protection technologies, allowing viewers to watch banned Russian channels that supposedly spread propaganda.

The man allegedly created a scheme to share television signal access cards, enabling multiple households to use a single valid code, Jauns.lv reported on Tuesday. The arrest took place at the end of May following a State Police investigation. If convicted, the suspect could face up to three years in prison, community service, or a fine.

The European Commission barred several Russia-linked media outlets from operating in EU member states after the Ukraine conflict escalated in February 2022, accusing them of spreading propaganda. Sharing content from these outlets is also prohibited under EU law.

Latvia, a former Soviet republic, has ramped up efforts to limit Russian influence, aligning closely with neighbors Estonia and Lithuania. All three Baltic states, which are among Kiev’s strongest backers, have introduced broad restrictions on Russian nationals, including travel bans and mandatory language tests. In February, the Latvian parliament gave initial approval to a draft law that would prohibit citizens of Russia from acquiring real estate in the country.

Biden said ‘Russia should be destroyed’ – Brazil’s Lula

Moscow considers the Ukraine conflict a Western proxy war, a notion recently acknowledged by top US officials

Former US President Joe Biden wanted to see Russia “destroyed” during his time in office, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has said in an interview with Le Monde.

The Brazilian leader, who has consistently pushed for a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine, objected to attempts to single out Moscow as the sole culprit behind the conflict, telling the French newspaper on Tuesday that “Western countries also bear part of the responsibility.”

“Joe Biden, with whom I spoke at length, thought Russia needed to be destroyed,” Lula said, without elaborating when the conversation took place. “And Europe, which for a long time embodied a middle way in the world, has now aligned itself with Washington and is spending billions on rearmament. That worries me. If all we talk about is war, there will never be peace.”

Supreme Court denies challenges to bans on assault-style weapons and high-capacity magazines

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/supreme-court/supreme-court-denies-challenges-state-laws-banning-assault-style-weapo-rcna187702

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear two major gun cases challenging a Maryland law that bans assault-style weapons, including the AR-15 semiautomatic rifle that has been used in high-profile mass shootings, and a Rhode Island restriction on large-capacity magazines.

As a result, the two laws remain in effect. Litigation over similar bans across the country is ongoing, and the issue is likely to return to the justices.

Janet Carter, a lawyer at gun control group Everytown Law, welcomed the developments in both cases.

“Courts of appeals across the country have consistently and correctly upheld laws like these — with countless communities safer as a result,” she said in a statement.

Berlin court bars police from turning immigrants away at border
683f07c72030270ae7200e2e
Sauce: https://www.rt.com/news/618604-berlin-court-asylum-seekers/

A Berlin court has barred German border police from rejecting asylum seekers arriving from neighboring EU countries without reviewing their claims. The ruling deals a blow to Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s recent efforts to reduce asylum-related land migration.

Last month, shortly after Merz took office, Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt introduced a policy under which undocumented migrants arriving at land borders were to be turned back – unless they are unaccompanied minors, pregnant women, or otherwise vulnerable individuals. The move aimed to fulfill Merz’s campaign promise to curb migration amid heightened public concern following a series of high-profile crimes involving asylum seekers.

On Monday, however, the Berlin Administrative Court ruled against the policy. The decision came in response to a legal challenge brought by three Somali nationals who tried to enter Germany last month but were returned to Poland without any examination of their claims.

The court found Dobrindt’s policy to be unlawful under the Dublin Regulation, which governs how EU member states handle asylum applications. The rules require that asylum seekers apply in the first EU country they enter. If they later apply in another member state, such as Germany, that country can seek to transfer them back to the original state.

In its ruling, the Berlin court emphasized that Germany cannot reject asylum seekers at the border without first checking whether they have submitted a claim, and whether the Dublin rules apply. It noted that while Germany is not obligated to accept all asylum seekers at the border, it also cannot summarily return individuals without reviewing their applications.

US man charged for framing immigrant in fake plot to kill Trump
Demetric Scott admitted he wrote letters in the name of Ramon Morales-Reyes, who he was charged with assaulting

Prosecutors in Milwaukee have charged a man with four felonies for attempting to frame an undocumented immigrant he is accused of assaulting, by sending forged letters in the immigrant’s name with a threat to kill Donald Trump.

The handwritten, forged letters were mailed to Wisconsin’s attorney general, Milwaukee police and US Immigration & Customs Enforcement (Ice). The story received a flood of media attention and was highlighted by the White House and Trump’s allies, but appears to have been a hoax.

WISN-TV, an ABC affiliate in Milwaukee, reported on Monday that a criminal complaint alleges Demetric Scott admitted to investigators he wrote the letters threatening to kill the president in the name of Ramon Morales-Reyes, whom he was previously charged with assaulting.

Among those who fell for the hoax was Kristi Noem, the homeland security secretary, who released a statement praising immigration officers for arresting Morales-Reyes on 22 May, one day after the forged letter was received by an Ice field intelligence officer.

“Thanks to our ICE officers, this illegal alien who threatened to assassinate President Trump is behind bars,” Noem said in a press release. Her department also released to news agencies an image of the handwritten note in light blue ink, expressing anger over Trump’s deportations and threatening to shoot him in the head with a rifle at a rally. Noem also shared the letter on X along with a photo of Morales-Reyes, and the White House also shared it on its social media accounts.

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Several people were injured and some may have been set on fire at an outdoor mall in Boulder, Colorado, police said. Police said a man was taken into custody in the attack that the FBI immediately described as a “targeted terror attack.”

Boulder Police Chief Steve Redfearn told reporters Sunday evening that it was too early to discuss a motive but that witnesses were being interviewed.

“It would be irresponsible for me to speculate on motive this early on,” he said.

The Boulder attack took place at a popular pedestrian mall known for attracting tourists and college students. On Sunday, demonstrators with a volunteer group called Run For Their Lives had gathered to call for the release of hostages who remain in Gaza. The group has multiple chapters across the world that regularly meet to walk to advocate for hostage releases.

Campbell's Co. says sales rise as more Americans cook meals at home
1748396996303180
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/campbells-co-says-sales-rise-195559938.html

The Campbell’s Co. said Monday it saw stronger sales of broth and condensed soup in its latest quarter as more Americans cooked their meals at home.

“Consumers continue to cook at home and focus their spending on products that help them stretch their food budgets, and they’re increasingly intentional about their discretionary snack purchases,” Campbell’s President and CEO Mick Beekhuizen said during a conference call with investors.

Beekhuizen said Campbell’s saw the highest level of meals cooked at home since early 2020 in its fiscal third quarter, which ended April 27. Campbell’s noted sales of its broths rose 15% during the quarter while sales of its Rao’s pasta sauces were up 2%.

But Campbell’s said sales of its snacks, including Goldfish crackers and Cape Cod potato chips, fell 4% during the quarter.

Other big companies, including McDonald’s, have also noted that Americans are increasingly eating at home as uncertainty over the economy grows. Grocery prices have also moderated. In 2024, prices for food eaten at home rose 1.2%, while prices for food away from home rose 4.1%, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Snack makers like PepsiCo, which makes Frito Lay chips, and General Mills, which makes Bugles chips and Golden Grahams, have also noted lower demand for snacks in recent quarters.

Campbell's net sales rose 4% to $2.5 billion for the fiscal third quarter, which was in line with Wall Street's expectations, according to analysts polled by FactSet.

FEMA staff confused after head said he was unaware of US hurricane season
1748281329541014
https://www.reuters.com/world/us/fema-staff-confused-after-head-said-he-was-unaware-us-hurricane-season-sources-2025-06-02/

WASHINGTON, June 2 (Reuters) - Staff of the Federal Emergency Management Agency were left baffled on Monday after the head of the U.S. disaster agency said during a briefing that he had not been aware the country has a hurricane season, according to four sources familiar with the situation.
The U.S. hurricane season officially began on Sunday and lasts through November. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration forecast last week that this year's season is expected to bring as many as 10 hurricanes.

The remark was made by David Richardson, who has led FEMA since early May. It was not clear to staff whether he meant it literally, as a joke, or in some other context.
Richardson said during the briefing that there would be no changes to the agency's disaster response plans despite having told staff to expect a new plan in May, the sources told Reuters.
Richardson's comments come amid widespread concern that the departures of a raft of top FEMA officials, staff cuts and reductions in hurricane preparations will leave the agency ill-prepared for a storm season forecast to be above normal.
Hurricanes kill dozens of people and cost hundreds of millions of dollars annually across a swath of U.S. states every year. The storms have become increasingly more destructive and costly due to the effects of climate change.
FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security, FEMA's parent agency, did not respond to requests for comment on Richardson's remarks. FEMA has previously said it is prepared for hurricane season.
Richardson's comment purporting ignorance about hurricane season spread among agency staff, spurring confusion and reigniting concern about his lack of familiarity with FEMA's operations, said three sources.

Ukraine targets several Russian air bases in large-scale operation ‘Spiderweb’

Ukraine has carried out large-scale drone strikes against several air bases deep inside Russia, destroying multiple combat planes, according to the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU).

The operation, dubbed “Spiderweb,” comes on the eve of expected peace talks in Istanbul between Russia and Ukraine, and involved the most ambitious simultaneous strikes on Russian air bases carried out by Ukraine since the war began.

An SBU source said that Russian bombers were “burning en masse” at four air bases hundreds of miles apart, adding that drones had been launched from trucks inside Russia.

Ukraine planned the operation for more than a year and a half and used 117 drones to carry out the attacks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an address on Sunday night.

“The planning, organization, and all the details were perfectly prepared. It can be confidently said that this was an absolutely unique operation,” Zelensky said.

The Trump administration was not given a heads-up about the operation, an administration official told CNN.

More than 40 aircraft were known to have been hit, according to the SBU source, including TU-95 and Tu-22M3 strategic bombers and one of Russia’s few remaining A-50 surveillance planes. According to the SBU, the operation caused an estimated $7 billion in damages and hit 34% of Russia’s strategic cruise missile carriers at its main air bases.

EU unlikely to meet demand from US senators on Russia sanctions – media

American lawmakers have been seeking “coordinated” measures with Brussels by mid-June

The EU is unlikely to finalize its next round of Russia sanctions before the G7 summit in Canada later this month, despite calls from US lawmakers for coordinated action, the EUobserver media outlet reported on Tuesday.

US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has said he aims to push new sanctions through by mid-June. In a joint statement with Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal, the two urged the EU and US to curb China and India’s purchases of discounted Russian oil. Graham and Blumenthal visited Kiev together on Friday.

Four EU diplomats earlier told EUobserver that the call to have “sanctions put in place – in coordination with Europe” by the G7 summit in Alberta on June 15-17 is unlikely to be met.

Both senators visited France over the weekend to urge their EU allies to take stronger action. Graham also met EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who said the bloc is preparing its 18th package of “hard-biting sanctions” against Moscow.

Biden was replaced by clones

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-shares-unfounded-conspiracy-theory-claiming-biden-was-executed-2-rcna210244
President Donald Trump on Saturday night reposted a baseless claim on Truth Social that former President Joe Biden was executed in 2020 and replaced with clones or robots.

The original post, made by an anonymous Truth Social user who often spreads outlandish claims, suggested that Biden was replaced with “clones, doubles” and “robotic engineered soulless mindless entities.”

Trump published a link to the post to his nearly 10 million followers without adding any context or explanation. The original poster’s account has a little more than 5,000 followers.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment Sunday explaining why Trump shared the post and whether he believes Biden was executed in 2020.

Trump has frequently taken to sharing misinformation and unproven conspiracy theories over the years. He repeats false claims that he won the 2020 presidential election, which led some of his supporters to attack the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, in an attempt to overturn Biden’s victory. He also claimed — before he backtracked — that former President Barack Obama was not born in the United States and, during the 2024 campaign, alleged that Haitian immigrants were “eating the pets.” All of those claims were debunked or otherwise proved false.

Trump’s circle, too, has spread conspiracy theories, with some of the top brass in the administration having spread misinformation about vaccines or the so-called deep state. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has repeated a debunked claim that the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine causes autism, and the FBI’s director and deputy director have spread claims that the Biden administration and the “deep state” weaponized the FBI against Trump.

CLOVIS, Calif. -- A transgender athlete bested the competition Saturday at the California high school track and field championships to take home gold in the girls' high jump and the triple jump at a meet that has stirred controversy and drawn national attention.

AB Hernandez competed under a new rule change that might be the first of its kind nationally by a high school sports governing body.

Hernandez finished the high jump with a mark of 5 feet, 7 inches, with no failed attempts. Co-winners Jillene Wetteland and Lelani Laruelle also cleared that height after each logged a failed attempt. The three shared the first-place win, smiling as they stepped together onto the podium.

Hernandez, a junior at Jurupa Valley High School, wrapped up the night with a first-place finish in the triple jump, sharing the top spot with Kira Gant Hatcher, who trailed by just over a half-meter.

Earlier in the afternoon, Hernandez placed second in the long jump.

Olympians Marion Jones and Tara Davis-Woodhall previously set state championship records in the long jump in 1993 and 2017, respectively, both surpassing 22 feet. This year's winner, Loren Webster, topped 21 feet, with Hernandez trailing by a few inches.

Webster, a senior from Wilson High School, told the Los Angeles Times that she focused only on her performance and didn't give Hernandez much thought.

"It wasn't any other person I was worried about," Webster said. "I knew what I was capable of. I can't control the uncontrollable."

Retarded cunt lies her ass off
https://apnews.com/article/ice-letter-threatening-trump-21447adfd14eb1a043f95344f9ccb3d5

A claim by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem that an immigrant threatened the life of President Donald Trump has begun to unravel.

Noem announced an arrest of a 54-year-old man who was living in the U.S. illegally, saying he had written a letter threatening to kill Trump and would then return to Mexico. The story received a flood of media attention and was highlighted by the White House and Trump’s allies.

But investigators actually believe the man may have been framed so that he would get arrested and be deported from the U.S. before he got a chance to testify in a trial as a victim of assault, a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press. The person could not publicly discuss details of the investigation and spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity.

Law enforcement officials believe the man, Ramon Morales Reyes, never wrote a letter that Noem and her department shared with a message written in light blue ink expressing anger over Trump’s deportations and threatening to shoot him in the head with a rifle at a rally. Noem also shared the letter on X along with a photo of Morales Reyes, and the White House also shared it on its social media accounts. The letter was mailed to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement office along with the FBI and other agencies, the person said.

As part of the investigation, officials had contacted Morales Reyes and asked for a handwriting sample and concluded his handwriting and the threatening letter didn’t match and that the threat was not credible, the person said. It’s not clear why Homeland Security officials still decided to send a release making that claim.

Trump thanks Elon Musk for stopping transgender mice, Elon also had a black eye for some reason

https://www.latintimes.com/trump-pushes-debunked-theory-transgender-mice-he-thanks-musk-his-service-584096
In a press briefing on Friday President Donald Trump praised billionaire Elon Musk for his contributions to DOGE, citing a debunked claim that the government had been funding scientific research to make "transgender mice."

Trump referenced $8 million in federal funding supposedly saved by DOGE when the agency halted efforts to make "mice transgender."

"They spent $8 million on making mice transgender, and those are better than many of the others," Trump said. "I could sit here all day and read things just like that, but we have other things to do."

The comments come months after Americans for Medical Progress issued a formal statement clarifying the nature of the research Trump was referring to. According to scientists, the studies in question have nothing to do with gender identity or transitioning animals, but rather investigate how hormones function in development and disease. Many of these studies involve mice models to better understand conditions like endometriosis, infertility, breast cancer, and prostate cancer.

"Misrepresenting this work will hinder our ability to protect our children and weaken progress toward improving the health and well-being of all individuals, regardless of background or belief," the statement said.

The White House posted a rebuttal to fact checkers that remains live on the White House website as Trump continues to amplify the claim.

Trump pardons drug kingpins instead of killing them like he said he will

https://www.npr.org/2025/05/31/nx-s1-5415939/trump-pardons-drug-kingpins-even-as-he-escalates-the-u-s-drug-war
President Trump has long called for escalating the U.S. drug war against Mexican cartels and wants tougher penalties for dealers selling fentanyl and other street drugs in American communities. "I am ready for it, the death penalty, if you deal drugs," Trump said during a meeting with state governors in February, where he said dealers are too often treated with a "slap on the wrist."

But despite his tough rhetoric, Trump has sparked controversy by pardoning a growing number of convicted drug dealers, including this week's move to grant clemency to Larry Hoover, 74, who was serving multiple life sentences in federal prison for crimes linked to his role leading the Chicago-based Gangster Disciples.

Already during the early months of his second term, Trump has granted clemency to at least eight individuals convicted on federal drug charges. Some, including Hoover, have extensive criminal records involving violence and gun charges.

"There's a lot of mixed messages and mixed signals [from the White House] which creates sort of chaos and uncertainty," said Jeffrey Singer, a drug policy analyst at the Cato Institute, a libertarian think-tank. "On the one hand you're threatening even tougher penalties on people who deal in drugs, while on the other hand you're releasing drug dealers from prisons."

Ron Safer, a former U.S. attorney in Chicago who helped prosecute members of the Gangster Disciples during the 1990s, said he was shocked and dismayed by Trump's decision to commute Hoover's sentence.

He pointed out that Hoover's gang was one of the largest and most violent drug syndicates in the U.S., operating in 35 states according to the U.S Justice Department. Hoover himself was convicted of state and federal charges including murder and use of a firearm while trafficking drugs.

DALLAS (AP) — An 18-year-old woman about to begin her first year at the U.S. Air Force Academy was killed when a personal watercraft hit her kayak on a Texas lake over Memorial Day weekend, setting off a pursuit by law enforcement that ended in the arrests of two people.

Ava Moore died following the collision Sunday on Lake Grapevine, a popular boating and fishing destination near Dallas. She had just graduated last week from the U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School.

Authorities said Wednesday the woman accused of operating the personal watercraft is charged with felony manslaughter. She is accused of fleeing the lake in a vehicle with a man who was charged with two misdemeanors, including one related to hitting two cars as they left the scene. Both are Venezuelans who had entered the U.S. illegally in 2023, authorities said.

Trump Taps Peter Thiel's Palantir to Compile Data on Americans
12THIELJP2-articleLarge
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/30/technology/trump-palantir-data-americans.html
In March, President Trump signed an executive order calling for the federal government to share data across agencies, raising questions over whether he might compile a master list of personal information on Americans that could give him untold surveillance power.

Mr. Trump has not publicly talked about the effort since. But behind the scenes, officials have quietly put technological building blocks into place to enable his plan. In particular, they have turned to one company: Palantir, the data analysis and technology firm.

The Trump administration has expanded Palantir’s work across the federal government in recent months. The company has received more than $113 million in federal government spending since Mr. Trump took office, according to public records, including additional funds from existing contracts as well as new contracts with the Department of Homeland Security and the Pentagon. (This does not include a $795 million contract that the Department of Defense awarded the company last week, which has not been spent.)

Representatives of Palantir are also speaking to at least two other agencies — the Social Security Administration and the Internal Revenue Service — about buying its technology, according to six government officials and Palantir employees with knowledge of the discussions.

The push has put a key Palantir product called Foundry into at least four federal agencies, including D.H.S. and the Health and Human Services Department. Widely adopting Foundry, which organizes and analyzes data, paves the way for Mr. Trump to easily merge information from different agencies, the government officials said.

Progressive education produces retards

As with most Democrats, San Francisco thought students of color (specifically non asians/whites) were too stupid to be educated, so they tried to stop grading quizzes, homework and attendance, and graded tests as 40% -> C and 80% -> A

San Francisco Public Schools Convert F's to C's, B's to A's in Equity Push

San Francisco's public high schools will implement a sweeping change to their grading system this fall, replacing traditional methods with a policy that allows students to pass with scores as low as 41 percent.

The initiative, part of a broader "Grading for Equity" push, is stirring concern among educators, students and parents over academic standards and college readiness.

The Context
Similar policies across other Bay Area districts—such as Dublin, Oakland and Pleasanton—have seen mixed results and strong community reactions. Dublin Unified attempted a pilot of equity grading in 2023, which included removing zeros for missed assignments and awarding a minimum of 50 percent for any "reasonably attempted" work.

That pilot, however, was met with outrage and resistance. Parents created petitions, formed WhatsApp groups and filled school board meetings to protest what they saw as a lowering of standards for their children. The Dublin school board eventually suspended the initiative, though individual teachers were still allowed to use the methods at their discretion.

The experiment in San Francisco comes amid — or despite — a broader rethinking of DEI initiatives after the election of Donald Trump, who ran on a platform of excising what he and many others said were "unfair" equity practices in the government and private sectors.

Trump suffered ‘mental anguish’ from disputed CBS News interview with Harris, lawyer says

https://apnews.com/article/trump-cbs-news-60-minutes-lawsuit-d43effebb7b3b76c31d38908bd31460e

NEW YORK (AP) — President Donald Trump suffered “mental anguish” from CBS News’ editing of a “60 Minutes” interview with Democratic opponent Kamala Harris last fall, his lawyers are arguing in court papers.

Trump’s status as a “content creator” was also damaged by attention given to the interview, lawyers said. It was part of their argument opposing CBS parent Paramount Global’s effort to dismiss the president’s $20 billion lawsuit against the company, filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Amarillo, Texas. Trump has claimed the editing was done to advantage Harris, which CBS rejects.

Even with the effort to dismiss the case, Paramount is engaged in settlement discussions with Trump. The prospect of a settlement has so rattled CBS News that two of its top executives have resigned in protest.

Trump, who did not agree to be interviewed by “60 Minutes” during the campaign, has protested editing where Harris is seen giving two different answers to a question by the show’s Bill Whitaker in separate clips aired on “60 Minutes” and “Face the Nation” earlier in the day. CBS said each reply came within Harris’ long-winded answer to Whitaker, but was edited to be more succinct.

Trump’s lawyer, Edward Andrew Paltzik, said that “this led to widespread confusion and mental anguish of consumers, including plaintiffs, regarding a household name of the legacy media apparently deceptively distorting its broadcasts, and then resisting attempts to clear the public record.”

Elon Musk says black eye was because son, 5, punched him in the face
Elon Musk caught molesting his son
https://www.scmp.com/news/world/united-states-canada/article/3312552/elon-musk-says-oval-office-black-eye-was-because-son-5-punched-him-face

Billionaire Elon Musk sparked fevered speculation when he turned up with a black eye for his Oval Office farewell with US President Donald Trump on Friday.

But the South African-born tech magnate said he had a simple explanation: his son had punched him in the face.

“I was just horsing around with lil’ X, and I said, ‘Go ahead punch me in the face,’” 53-year-old Musk told reporters when asked how he got the shiner.

“And he did. Turns out even a five-year-old punching you in the face actually is …” he added, before tailing off.

“I didn’t really feel much at the time but I guess it bruises up.”

Trump hosted the press conference with Musk to mark the Tesla boss’s last day at the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (Doge). Musk had expressed increasing disillusionment with the job but said he would remain a “friend and adviser”.

Musk’s appearance was overshadowed by allegations in The New York Times that he had engaged in heavy drug use while on the campaign trail for Trump in 2024.

Israel agrees to ceasefire; announces major settlement expansion in Gaza

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c1j5954edlno
Israeli ministers say 22 new Jewish settlements have been approved in the occupied West Bank - the biggest expansion in decades.

Several already exist as outposts, built without government authorisation, but will now be made legal under Israeli law. Others are completely new, according to Defence Minister Israel Katz and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.

Settlements - which are widely seen as illegal under international law, though Israel disputes this - are one of the most contentious issues between Israel and the Palestinians.

Katz said the move "prevents the establishment of a Palestinian state that would endanger Israel", while the Palestinian presidency called it a "dangerous escalation".

The Israeli anti-settlement watchdog Peace Now called it "the most extensive move of its kind" in more than 30 years and warned that it would "dramatically reshape the West Bank and entrench the occupation even further".
