Because people have an image to maintain, or so I'm told. Minivan is bread and butter, and some people will only eat bread if it's a cheeseburger and butter if it's basted on a steak. It just doesn't fit what they want even if it's what they need.

Yeah. It's a big car. People see them as cheap because they used to depreciate really fast, so you could snag a good deal on them in two or three years.

These days the depreciation is slower. The hybrid Siennas for some reason are rising in value on the used market, probably because r*dditors are spreading the word that you can be comfortably homeless in one. Toyota hybrids are really good camping cars because of their battery-prioritized HVAC logic. Doesn't help that Toyota went full vanlifer on it too.
