It's basically a Mitsubishi Eclipse. Different chassis as the sedan, different engines, it's basically a rebadged/badge-engineered Mitsubishi in the same way the earlier Dodge Avenger coupe was as well. It's so similar that Eclipse owners commonly swap the doors (or did, at this age) so they can get rid of that "ribbed" look the Eclipses of that era had.
I would imagine that might have made them somewhat reliable, but they also suffered from having many of the same type of owners that owned the regular Stratuses, Intrepids, and Neons of their day, so they're quite rare nowadays.
