Yeah, anything with an electric motor has so much instant output that it really needs some traction control to be safe for most drivers. Especially in poor driving conditions. Some cars manage to do that more subtly than others.
I recall reading a Finnish review of the Cupra Born RWD EV (related to the VW ID.3 EV hatch) where the reviewer complained about the traction control going off almost constantly in winter conditions. I guess the car's trying to feel as sporty and aggressive as possible, but on ice it's not really physically possible to accelerate any faster on 2 tires than granny's old Citroen in the next lane, so it just ends up feeling like a 20 hp car with a really awkward power curve (and one that's almost entirely defined by the traction control's behavior).
