No you wouldn't. If you can preserve meat (which you should learn how to do if you plan to live in the wilderness), one deer could last you weeks or even months.

So learn how to make a bow and arrows, or better yet, a spear thrower and spears. People have been hunting big game for tens of thousands of years before the advent of firearms. Spear throwers are ridiculously effective.

Plenty of people have been able to survive alone for long periods of time. Granted, most of those people would be ones who grew up surviving in the wilderness. There's some guy in the Amazon who is the last of his tribe, and he lives alone. Or lived alone, not sure if he's still alive.
