And now, I'm starting to wonder if you've ever even used a bic. The problem isn't heat/cold cycles. It's that the retarded valve doesn't lock,m and the spring inside is damn weak. Stick them in a pocket or bag with literally anything else, and the valve's button is bound to get caught, emptying the gas. You'd know if you actually used them.

Well, by now I'm starting to feel bad about showing you just how retarded you are. Neither gasoline nor butane will dissipate inside a closed canister. The big issue with bic is that the canister won't remain closed, if you even so much as look at it wrong.
Also, dissipation is unrelated to how they perform in cold temps. The issue there is that butane (or any liquified gas) will cool the tank by evaporating long before it enters the flame, until it's to cold to supply anymore fuel. gasoline only evaporates IN the flame, and is transported there by capillary action, with no such problem.
