AI does shitty uncanny work unless you're a prompter and photoshop GOD, then it does a really good job at imitating amateurs.
It's not good art though, and can't really follow directions meaningfully.
tl;dr it's shit because

It's like if you want actors for a production. But when you use AI actors they don't understand or follow directions, or keep changing costumes wrong between scenes.
The text generators are more impressive but still have fatal flaws.
For anything serious you want a human that understands what you're telling them. Those are surprisingly rare, and getting rarer since the brain rot marches on.
