the war being deliberatly made to last starts to make a whole lot of sense when you consider the cash thats being made off of it, and that various powerful groups all across the world all see interest in the prolongation conflict

also it explains key questions like:
why the west didnt do lend lease 2.0 and enter a new era of economical prosperity?
or why did the russians perform so poorly, contrary to what was to be expected, but did perform exactly as expected during the first two weeks of the conflict
