From your picture it looks like the area has brick houses, if they used 5.56 with typical civilian ammo (hollow point or sintered ammunition) these brick houses were basically bunkers that they couldn't shoot trough.

Normies have no idea how to barrier penetrate, they think it is the gun that does the penetration, not the bullet.
