Most people who understand the tech outside of novelty application gather that it's just one massive ARP spoof vulnerability as every connected device now acts as a routers and passes ARP packets around like a bag of free molly at the club. Your wifi coffeemakers and washer/dryer combo is not equipped to deal with a modern attacker and they can sit on your network undetected and MiTM for however long they decide you're interesting.

That's why you see them almost never used, the people dumb enough to want them can't figure out how to configure it and the people smart enough to do so opt not to use mesh networks as there are many other soloutions here which don't involve literally chaingun-shotgunning unprotected ARP packets in a 400 m radius

I'm not even going to get into spanning tree attacks and other router shenanigans, but mesh is not exactly healthy for security posture, but the users sure love it lol
