I ate a few words there, I mean the general interaction of the air with the falling platform should be no different from the case where there is no portal.

Continuing; the action exerted upon the cube is similar to collision, but it is not an instantaneous, hard impact as a collision would be. It would be gradual, as portions of the cube are swallowed up by the portal. It would also not crush the cube, as the cube has somewhere to go. But just like the invididual air molecules, ultimately the cube gets sucked into the portal, and thus B is the correct answer, as long as the mass of the platform is a considerable proportion of the cube's mass.

Now what happens when the platform is made out of styrofoam, and the cube is made of tungsten? Common sense suggests the platform might actually get stuck on the cube, and as the cube slightly peeks out of the blue portal, gravity pushes a portion of it back in, eventually reaching some sort of equilibrium where the cube sticks out just a tiny bit, or simply rests on the portal as if it had a surface.

Just a reminder, the portals in game did actually have some resistance, at least when the player went through them. So this would be pretty consistent.
