Yeah, there was definitely two to three schizos at least naysaying Trench Crusade recently and Turnip 28 a year ago. But I think it wasn't as bad because miniature games have the craft element, so it's harder to to be cynical or take critics seriously when you see kit bashes and custom regiments being made.

I kind of blame Satanists, Marylin Mansion, and Alan Moore for this, but to be fair to those people, there was some more nuance in their opinions about topics like the Devil and Villains. Nowadays it feels like everyone is trying to be anti-authoritarian, but it's more like they've regressed to tribalism.
I think about this a lot with settings like Kaladesh in MTG where there existed a strong government which persecuted fire mages and heavily regulated invention. However, Kaladesh also had a highly flammable substance called Ather floating in the atmosphere, so pyromancer was a huge threat, Inventors were creating planar portals, which is something only the most powerful beings in the MTG setting have done(and who knows what nightmare planes they could accidently link up to), they're literally demons whispering in the ears of inventors(hopefully not how they should make a nuclear bomb), energy vampires that can only exist by sucking on life force, and there's rampaging animals at their borders. And yet, the revolutionaries are painted entirely in the right and the Consulate, the standing government, is called fascists within the story(literally written in one of the newer lore bits), even though logically the plane was a powder keg and their heavy-handed rules was pretty well justified.
