His character is justified in doing that, but OP is the one who made the character that way.

OP should have voluntarily made a new character once he realized his current one wasn't a good fit. Not being told up front sucks, but it was his choice to stick to it once the writing on the wall was obvious. It has nothing to do with a formalized vote.
But you also point out that

The rest of the table can vote to kick you from the game. Therefore, the rest of the players can ask you to play a less disruptive character, and refuse to play with you if you don't swap.
It doesn't matter if OP is being reasonable is the table full of That Guys, because at a table full of That Guys he's still the odd one out.

These are the realities of the situation, and no amount of hurling insults at the rest of the table will compel them to accept a player who is roleplaying in a disruptive manner.
