I'm one of those fags, and no we don't. The longest and most acrimonious argument I've ever been in with my players was over how far something falls after a single round and whether or not they had time to save said falling thing, an NPC. This was back in 3.5 in like 2005, there were no actual rules for how fast something falls (just rules for damage at the end of a fall), and the Internet was not nearly so reliable back then, so we ended up doing a lot of calculations by hand, breaking out Pythagorean Theorem, etc., etc.

They managed to save the falling NPC. Barely, but they managed it. At the end of it all I declared that from now on, things fall 500 ft/round on the first round and 1,000 ft/round each round thereafter. It's quick and dirty but also easy to remember and I didn't want to have to ever break out calculators and bog down a session for half an hour again.

Anyway. That's about typical for what this fag in particular talks about at the table.
