It's simple and the random generation tools are excellent. It can be low-tech, it's got a setting sorta but ignore it if you want. It's got everything from space-wizards to psychics to AI to "nope, just people" and does them with a simple, straightforward ruleset almost all of us already know. There's no HP bloat, combat is quick and snappy, rewards feel rewarding, character progression makes the players feel way cooler without their characters getting way more powerful, and it has enough random tables to help me prepare for anything my players choose to do. It's the perfect SciFi ttrpg that isn't West End Star Wars.
