Basic knock up concept:
>Player character is actually a group of characters
>Up to 20
>Point buy character gen where you have 60 XP you spread between HP, Skill & Talents
>HP is how many hits a character can take before being taken out, characters all start with 1
>Whenever you fuck up, roll a D20 and that's the guy that takes the brunt of it, you can shift it up or down by 1 if the character either side has a higher amount of HP, if that slot is already empty then roll down to the next filled slot, if there's nothing below then you don't lose a guy (So characters higher on the dice tend to last longer and being the guy in rank 1 is the unluckiest shit)
>Some attacks can do more than 1 damage, or can hit more than 1 person, sometimes even both!
>Skills are shit the character can do with a roll, each character gets 1 freebie
>Extra points means either an extra skill or better at that skill (Extra ranks lower DC to succeed by 4 per skill point, so ranks are: 17+, 13+, 9+, 5+, 1+
>Characters with the same skill who are in the slots one above or below can 'help out' if their skill is equal to rolled character-1 or greater, increasing the characters rank by 1, and yes this can daisy chain meaning blocking characters up is useful for skills, but also means that if you group all your thieves together and they get hit by a fireball you get to eat shit
>Talents are shit your character can do without a roll, you get either your race, class ability (Have to have the skill for either of these) or a piece of gear as a freebie
>Characters that hit HP 0 are out, roll after the dungeon to see if they survive
>If they dead then they dead and any XP is lost
>XP is gold based, 1 XP per 1,000 GP
The OSR general would hate it probably, but fuck it, it's a game where failing a single roll can cause your arch-mage to explode into blood and pus because you rolled a nat 20 immediately after.
