People also forget that all this instantly goes away if a Democrat wins the next election, so companies have two options:

Option one:
>spend hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars shifting their entire supply chain to the U.S. and building new factories while hoping that a Democrat president doesn't revert all of Trump's policies and instantly make their new U.S. factories worthless
Most companies would go bankrupt in this scenario, where they spend 4 years of time and money moving everything to the U.S. only to have it all made less than worthless by a simple policy reversal.

Option two:
>keep everything as it is now, pass the cost along to consumers who will have no reason to single out your company since every other company will be doing the exact same thing, and bet that angry voters will elect someone from the other team next time, who will return everything to the status quo
