If you’re a casual enough collector that you’ve only just learnt that UV light affects plastic, I would say that spending up to 1k on window filters isn’t worth it.

Just don’t put them near direct light. I’ve had figures that were in storage for years where the white parts started yellowing, it can just happen (that's not even going into temperature and humidity, etc).

This is the kind of thing that you would need access to laboratory equipment to find out if there’s damage at a molecular or macroscopic level. If it’s not visibly damaged, and it was only in the light for a few minutes over a 2 or 3 months I wouldn’t think it’s not worth worrying too much over.

Especially the parts lower down, Chemical processes, which lists different types of chemical degradation (Photo-oxidative degradation for UV light damage)…and also the table which categories the different types of plastic and the Effects of UV, light, moisture and pollutants on them.

It’s worth googling things like ‘museum plastic conservation’ as this is overall an issue that’s only becoming bigger and bigger with so much plastic entering museum collections, so there’s been lots written on it.
