I want options if they're actually good or fun. I know everyone's definition of that is different, but sometimes accessories are definitely used as an excuse to inflate the price of a toy, especially if they're exclusive to a certain edition.

I think a perfect example is Transformers Masterpiece. The line was at its best a decade ago when it was doing "less"—more straightforward engineering, and sometimes only a single weapon or accessory in the box. But this was also back when most of them cost about 70 bucks before importing, and nobody really complained about it because it was great value for a well-made product. Then they got more complex and started throwing in tons of random accessories as homages to that one scene in that one episode, and suddenly they doubled in price, and QC went down the shitter.

So yes, sometimes I unironically do want fewer options. It's pretty much the same crap with buying real cars—even base models these days are LOADED with automatic features, unreliable gadgets, and computerized bullshit, simply because it allows them to raise the price tag for all consumers. No thanks.
