It really is that simple. Soon as you step off the plane, the long ride is instantly forgotten in the excitement of having arrived on a different continent. Yeah, you could be crammed in a hard bus seat for 8 hours with your knees bashing into the seat back with every pothole and rough spot in the road until they get all black and blue. No air-con either, the temp climbs up to 100 degrees by midafternoon and clouds of dust come through the windows with every passing vehicle. Then you'll dream of sitting on a padded seat cruising smoothly through the air in 75 degree comfort, covering twenty miles in the same time the bus takes to travel one. So many nutless pansies traveling these days, if only they would stay the fuck home like they used to.
