I’ve been there several times, and don’t like it very much. I don’t like the climate, I don’t like the architecture or infrastructure, I don’t like monarchies, and I don’t like the weird dichotomy between the tiny, pampered, often rather lazy indigenous population and the guest-worker masses.

I do like some things about it—luxury is relatively cheap (I think quality of life can probably be great if you’re just a nondiscerning rich person without very sophisticated taste), there are good air connections to lots of places I actually like, and there’s plenty of good food. But the only things that keep me from really disliking the place are that it’s weird enough to be kind of interesting, and knowing I get to leave in a week or two.
