Stop. Just stop with the delusion. One thing I have learned is that many Indians are incapable of accepting critique. I have spent 3 months in fucking India. From Varanasi to Rajasthan to Goa to Bengal and the seven sisters and what these bloggers show is an accurate representation for the AVERAGE traveler in India.

Sure, if you only stay inside gated luxury communities in Mumbai things might be different, but if you actually want to see the sights like temples and ruins and forts you will see what India is really like. The only place I have been to that is actually good on AVERAGE was the north-east in Meghalaya, but that isn't really India. The people are ethnically more South East Asian and mostly Christian.

Pic rel is a very common sight, stray pigs and cows eating and languishing in trash and shit. I took it in one of the main roads in Jaipur, not in some small unusually poor part of the city. Add to that touts, scams, sexual harassment, pollution, honking noise terror, bad hygiene standard, bad maintenance, bad organization in general and you got your AVERAGE India visit.
