The Apache were displaced by the Comanche horse hordes into Mexico, whereupon they themselves were as barbaric against the Mexicans and vice versa-- it goes against ahistorical "muh colonizers" boilerplate agitprop and it's highly likely producers and writers involved are incapable of nuance or 'strategic empathy' required to make it properly tragic per picrel. And over-age casting The Kid is no bueno.
