It never really ended, the shitposting just took on other forms. Like Sword and Shield allegedly killing systems just by putting in the cartridge, which was so retarded that a fucking NatDex modder had to be the one to say "no the game does not write to the NAND, that's ridiculous, none of you understand game software". Some kept pushing it for weeks afterward even when the original guy confessed it was just an eShop loading screen he photoshopped. Dumbest part was how people were parroting "orange screen of death" as if it was a real thing that they heard of before.
