I'm probably stockholm syndrome'd, but the compact keyboard controls work really well for me. wasd to move and the arrows control the camera, tab/shift+tab to cycle targets; though the mouse is rather terrible, I can't deny that poor implementation. I don't even bother using a controller for it, even though I originally started when the PS2 launched and played that for many years. regardless, the game was definitely designed around using a controller at the time and PC was pretty much an afterthought (not atypical for japanese devs at the time).

dawg, interacting with bluegartr wasn't necessary to enjoy and explore the game in any capacity. and don't bullshit me saying that some shitty ass epeen forum is anyway similar to the ubiquity of youtube/twitch effect on content digestion for the contemporary social game experience. yes, in all likelihood there was someone in the group that HAD to know what to do and where to go for various missions/quests (possibly from looking up a guide). but that's 1 person that can easily communicate simple directives. after completing it, you had 5+ additional people that could do the same thing in the future without the need for some shitty online guide/resource - it was superfluous. the guidance came from within the game.
