This is literally why Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union are so seethed about. It was "colonization" but on white people.
The seething about the Soviet Union is especially hypocritical, since for all the bad they did, they were 10000x more humane and ethical to Eastern Europe than empires like the British or French or Spanish were to their colonial subjects. Did the British go around building their subjects mass housing and hospitals and universities and the best infrastructure of the time? Nope, just looted and destroyed.
