Space Station 13 is the only game you can compare to something like Dwarf Fortress.

It has +20 years of autistic coders adding weird niche interactions and secrets in it. Every job plays like a completely different game. Even ones in the same department. They vary from engineering autism, roleplaying autism, resource management, to combat, etc. You can be a hermit in your autism corner to interacting with virtually everyone. Even the knock off game SS14 is basically a skeleton of the original game.

The downside is it basically became unplayable a year or two after Sseth made a vid on it. Even his favorite server isn't around anymore. His fans tried making merchan/tg/uild a few times, but it kept dying out. You need at least 30 players to have a decent round, but all the servers with that many players are ran by Karens that over-police the rules and turn a blind eye to their friends.
