Knowing how this stuff usually rolls, I think a lot of these Megas will eventually either retain their already good ability (like Speed Boost Blaziken), be given a newer ability that came out after they were introduced (Tough Claws Zard, Refrigerate Glalie...), or they do something weird that completely changes their playstyle (Skill Link Heracross, Prankster Banette):

Keeps Magic Guard. If it really is picking up Flying type and getting that +100BST, that's all it needs

Supersweet Syrup. Lore accurate and might kinda sorta help if this thing goes the logical route of bulky physical attacker so you can use Power Whip or even the powders a bit more reliably. Actually might be kind of cool too because you can proc the ability when you Mega rather than when you switch in
>Froslass
Perish Body. Makes a lot of sense on this thing and might work if it ends up being frail but fast. Send it in to set up hazards, snow, etc and you have the "perish trap" cushion. Plus if you wait to Mega, you could even activate Cursed Body on the same target which is a little nutty
>Meganium
Triage would make a lot of sense, but I have a feeling they might not and instead do something like Flower Veil. Leans into the support role and would be extra cool if they changed the ability to just protect any ally or even yourself -- not just Grass types
>Gatr
People are saying Strong Jaw and that def makes a lot of sense, but I'm actually thinking it keeps Sheer Force just to spite us

Does this change type? Either way, Reckless is sort of unique but Supreme Overlord is even more unique and fits the theming of the Mega really well

Rough Skin makes a lot of sense here. Or if it does become a king then they lean in there by giving it Defiant or something similar to Queenly Majesty, but without the name

It keeping Magician would make sense, but unless the ability changes that is straight garbage. I could see Magic Bounce or Guard here
