Kids these days just don't understand, shinies are supposed to be special, rare, the "holy shit my Pikachu's purple and green!!!!" shit that you show off to all your friends, you're NOT supposed to be waddling your character through crowds of shinies, ever, event or no.
Both gens 8 and 9 are like this, it's just too fuckin' easy, there's no mystery anymore, no effort, no luck.
