100 percent. And yeah, like you said, we all saw the same show. But people took something different away from it. And now its something different to them. Its fine if you think Giovanni has a cool character design, or you like the villains style or charisma. But I think its important to never forget the core message of the show. Because some people will see that powerful villain, and not see him as a villain, but as something to emulate. Much as many 4channers (though certainly not limited just to anons here) of people who look at villainous media figures and want to be like them in all the worst ways. Idolizing power for powers sake.

Team rocket steals pokemon from trainers to exploit them for profit. Monstrous considering pokemon have basically human level intelligence and are generally very kind-hearted creatures. And to exploit them or abuse them in such a vicious way is truly horrible.
