Yeah I honestly don't think it's a feature that's very important. And I think that MAYBE they didn't want to repeat the feature twice for the same region, considering that HGSS also includes Kanto. So they decided to leave it for the Johto remakes. Or, alternatively, maybe they didn't like how the "GB Sounds" sounded on the GBA.

This would have been cool to have in FRLG, but I think it's more likely that the house interior planned for route 19 was just a coincidence, because there are two more identical house interiors planned for 2 other routes too. My guess is that the 3 house interiors were maybe planned for the 3 new special moves (elemental hyper beams). But in the end they decided to put all 3 of them on Two Island instead, with just 1 Move Tutor for all of them.

>Cut Sevii routes
I agree with you, I think they didn't want to have redundant routes on the Sevii Islands, precisely because they were very well thought overall. Also, from what I have read online, I think the 7 cut Sevii routes were actually "condensed", not cut. The 4 cut routes around Four Island, were probably condensed because in the final game, Four Island is the only Sevii Island without any routes. Icefall Cave and the Daycare were at the end of these routes, so they just put them on Four Island itself, making the routes unnecessary, I think. As for the 3 cut routes around Seven Island, they were supposed to form a loop, and they probably thought it was unnecessary when you can have the route be a straight line.
So yes, I think the devs just decided to not make unnecessary extra routes for the Sevii Islands, because they are quality over quantity.
