A lot of people bitch about the zones in this game besides Green Hill and Starlight.

People have said this for a long time. This is a skill issue. All of the lava boat segments are able to be jumped over and skipped except one. I'll grant you that one, but if someone made a mod adding an extra platform to make that one skippable that would be the only issue gone from the zone.

This is probably the most middle of the road zone in the entire game. It's not actually bad but it's not great. There are many moments where if you think fast enough/use your momentum you can navigate to a higher/faster path. It's not that different from Green Hill. This was before the Sonic 2 philosophy of every level having to be Green Hill
>Labyrinth zone
There have been much better designed water levels since but like Marble Zone most of the complaints are due to a lack of skill. This game is best on repeat playthroughs. Watch any speedrun and you'll see how you're actually supposed to play this zone. Act 1 you can skip through the bullshit, Act 2 doesn't have a skip but if you play intelligently, even though you're slower in water you can still preserve momentum. And Act 3 isn't terrible to get through, besides the boss battle. It's harder than the final boss. Again if someone out there modded it, the only improvement really needed would be to slightly change Act 2's layout so there's a skip like Act 1.
>Scrap brain zone
It's the final level, it's going to be a bit more challenging than usual. Similar to green hill, if you use your momentum/think fast you can get to higher paths, or in the case of act 3, a lower path, so you don't have to go so slow.
This game filtered far too many people.
