probably would have been if they had access to the source code, which they never do, with a lot of these conversions, sometimes the devs might have an arcade machine, often they didnt and only played the game a handful of times.

this is true usually they used multiple z80s and multiple AY-8913 sound chips, the amstrad only had one of each, and still did a decent job, also the exidy max a flex which was an atari had boulder dash (which is one of my favourite games) the amstrad port is identical but has a better colour pallete and better sounding sound fx, both versions were done by original devs, both really good despite differing hardware.
