Ultima 2 was interesting and funny, I'm glad I played it all the way through, warts and all... but a fellow anon on /vr/ described the game more perfectly than I ever could:

No ranged attacks for the player, having to randomly grind against enemies to kill thieves to get "blue tassle," having to realize that these "tassles" allow you to steal pirate ships (the only way to get a ship), having to find a fucking hotel clerk to give money to in order to increase stats randomly (or not at all), realizing you can't unlock any door and being forced to murder town guards to get keys (only way to get keys btw), then having to go to space in order to go to Planet X and then return to find a man under a tree (literally under the word "ATREE") to get the item needed to face the final boss, getting that fucking key item stolen and having to go back to the tree man, then having to grind for coins to freeze time because most of the enemies in the final area are invincible and you have to go back and forth across the map like 10 times.... and all the dungeons are completely pointless diversions, in an RPG.
Never again.
